PROLOGUE-

My heads spinning and I feel sick, I've drank too much again. I always do. That's why ma tells me not to. She used to warn me that it was bad for me, that it would mess with my head and be bad for my body.

I don't think she's wrong.

My ma is normally right. She's wise like that. A woman I've always looked up too, who always supported my dreams, who cried and hugged me and called me her superstar when I first got called up to Dortmund from Birmingham fc.

Yet I knew something worse for my body. For my heart and head.

You. Blonde hair, blue eyes. Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.

You, what ruined my life.

My hand wants to go to my phone, to call you after all this time. To have you hold me. To smell your woody cologne and just bury my face in your chest with no one watching.

My hand shakes. Does it normally shake this much when I'm drunk? I don't know. I don't know how far I'm gone. I don't know the time, or if the suns come up yet. Was it down when I started drinking?

I feel sick. My stomach clenching. My hand is on my phone. Holding. Fingers clenched around it as if I can still my own shaking.

I can only think to do one thing.

My fingers find your contact. I wish I'd deleted now but I hadn't. I always tried to but I'd end up finding it and unblocking it again, somehow it was always unblocked ready when I was like this.

Not that this happened a lot. I wasn't..crazy or obsessed or anything.

Just now I'd let myself go.

After all this time and I was still stuck over you.

After all I guess they do say old habits and friendships died hard. We both knew we weren't really friends. Not now. Not then either.

My fingers pressed call. My vision blurring up. I don't know when it happened but my eyes have teared up because hot liquid ran down my cheeks. Salty and wet.

I was such a mess.

I always.

You knew how to fix it though.

You always did.

"Jude?" I heard your voice in the phone, blunt and strong Norwegian. The accent I laughed at when you first spoke to me and I'd joked I couldn't understand you when we first started being friendly. You didn't sound as soft as you used to, it had been a long time since you had sounded soft with him but you weren't as harsh as earlier either.

"E-..Erling" I just choked out, more tears streaming down my face and words slurred from the alcohol. It couldn't have been that much. A cup? Or two?

An empty bottle sat on my coffee table and I grimaced.

"Jude!?..what's wrong?" His voice was more panicked sounding now but still slightly calm. He always knew how to stay calm.

I never did.

I don't remember if I responded. My mouth felt sticky and too sweet. My stomach kept churning then my mouth felt like sweet sick and I couldn't stop the tears or the spinning.

"Jude!?" I heard muffled in my ear, his panicked voice before I swayed and everything went black.
