SHE HATED THE Hunger Games. She saw no purpose in them at all.
No one knew what Aurelia Solis truly thought about the Games—not even her closest friends, the Snow brothers.
Instead, she played the role of the perfect daughter. She earned top grades, maintained an impeccable reputation, and competed for the Plinth Prize. She knew how desperately both Snow brothers wanted it. Coriolanus needed the prize to save his family's future, while Cassian wanted it just as badly for the same reasons.
Aurelia, however, couldn't bring herself to care.
Despite everything, she found herself slowly falling for Coriolanus. She never acted on those feelings—it simply wasn't like her. Besides, she didn't know what her father would think of him.
And after months of trying to ignore it, she wanted those feelings to disappear as quickly as they had appeared.
HE HAD NO real opinion of the Solis girl.
At least, that's what he told himself.
There was something about Aurelia that intrigued him, something that constantly drew his attention no matter how hard he tried to ignore it. She carried herself with an effortless confidence that made her impossible to overlook.
The moment the Plinth Prize was announced, Coriolanus knew he had to win it. He needed it just as much as his brother.
No.
He wanted it far more than Cassian ever could.
The prize meant survival. It meant restoring the Snow name to its former glory. It meant security, power, and a future that wasn't haunted by the Capitol's whispers of poverty.
Yet Aurelia Solis couldn't have cared less.
That baffled him.
Anyone with half a brain should have wanted the prestige, the recognition, the opportunities it offered. Instead, she treated it as little more than another assignment to complete, showing no ambition beyond doing what was expected of her.
He couldn't decide whether that made her foolish... or fascinating.
