“Hey!” I shout as I tug at the shoulder of the flame haired girl in front of me, “We need to talk right now.”

Hailey turns around, curious as to who is vying for her attention this time, but when she sees my face her expression falls with distaste. “And to what do I owe this pleasure.”

To what do you owe this pleasure? Is she seriously asking me this right now? How do some people have such audacity? Originally I was going to wait for Marcus, but when I saw her, I just couldn’t control my rage. I mean, sure Timothy isn’t my brother, but I feel like he might as well be, I want to protect him because he is important to Marcus and whatever is important to Marcus is important to me.

“What the hell is your problem?” I bark, and I suddenly feel that familiar boiling in my head, that imminent feeling of rage and avid coldness. Usually I don’t let my anger show, I cover it up with the false pretense of cockiness, but now I don’t want to, I want her to feel how pissed I am.

The sound of my raised voice attracts the stares of my peers and a few of the students in the hallway stop to watch us. Hailey crosses her arms, the pale ligaments resembling thin branches while jutting her hip out as what I guess is supposed to be a delicate manner, but really just looks ridiculous. “What crawled up your ass and died?” she smirks.

“Don’t fuck with me right now bitch, I know that you threatened Timothy.”

Hailey’s haughty expression dies, sliding off of her face leaving behind an obvious mask of fear; she quickly tries to cover it up acting like a confused damsel. “Whatever do you mean?”

“I’ve never hit a girl before, but you know right now I’m seriously considering beating you into the floor.” I warn, pasting an intimidating grin onto my face. Hailey takes a step back from me in fright, but from behind her Blaine steps up.

“What’re you doing Sanders?” He challenges, “You better not start any trouble, you’ve already been expelled this year, I don’t know if punching a girl will do well for your reputation.” The cocky look on the wiry bastards face sends my head into sure fire.

“How about you then?” I growl stepping up to the boy and shoving him in the chest. Blaine stumbles back with the force but seems to recover quickly his face contorting with an expression of annoyance.

“Bring it on!” He pushes back, sending me flying into the person behind me who just shouts in annoyance before moving, and it’s as if that goes on for an eternity the pushes gradually getting more heated, as the crowd of students around us seems to double in numbers.

“What are you pissed about huh?” He grins, “Are you angry that we forced you into dating Alexander to save your pitiful reputation!” That snaps me, and I pull back my arm jetting forward to give the asshole a nice shiner, but unfortunately a hand wraps around my wrist and a deep velveteen voice brings me to a stop

“We aren’t pretending.” Marcus corrects pulling me to his side, the deep intonation of his voice sending the crowd into complete silence. “I’m not sure where you would get that idea.”

This is when Hailey suddenly decides to grow a pair and stomps forward, “Whatever, we saw you guys in the locker room that day; I don’t even know why you’re willing to be near this peace of trash Marcus!” She hisses looking me up and down with contempt. I attempt to strike out at her but Marcus holds me against his body, wrapping his arms around my waist.
