Chapter 1

"Good morning sweetheart" Mrs Joanne greet.

She slowly opened her eyes as the sunlight streamed into them.

"Guess who is turning 10 today?" Mrs Joanne said as she opened the curtain.

"Me?" Eianne said while rubbing her eyes.

Mrs Joanne let out a soft chuckle at her daughter's behaviour. It was cute. Carefully, she patted Eianne's head.

"I can't believe you're turning 10 today"

"What day is today?" asked Eianne, still sleepy.

"It's 19 July" Mrs Joanne replied.

Eianne still half-asleep, froze as she processed what was happening before realising that today is her big day. Not just big, but a BIG day.

"Eianne!" A voice of a grown up man shouting her name from downstairs made her heart race.

"Mom, tell dad I'll be down in a minute" Eianne said before jumping off her bed, and heading to take a shower.

Mrs Joanne didn't say much, she nodded and went downstairs, leaving Eianne alone in her room.

After 10 minutes passed, she finally ready to meet her father, Mr Hexalor Heinne.

Carefully she walk down the stairs and went straight to her parents who were already waiting at the dinner table, with breakfast that was made by their private chef. She pulled the chair beside her mother and placed napkins on her lap to prevent her clothes from getting dirty from the food.

They were having a French breakfast today. The French croissants were freshly baked to perfection, their golden, flaky layers delicately crisp on the outside while remaining soft and buttery on the inside. Each pastry carried a rich aroma of butter, with a light, airy texture that melted effortlessly with every bite. They were elegantly arranged on a silver platter, accompanied by small dishes of homemade jam, honey, and whipped cream.

"How old are you today?" Mr Hexalor asked, breaking the silence.

"I'm 10 today" Eianne replied instantly.

"So you know what you have to do right?" Mr Hexalor asked again.

Eianne slowly nodded, signaling that she already knew.

"There will be other guests too, so keep your attitude" Mr Hexalor added.

Then the three of them started enjoying the breakfast.

Once breakfast was over, Mr. Hexalor approached Eianne and gently placed a hand on her head, giving her a soft pat.

"Happy birthday, you're a grown up girl now" he said and walk towards the front door.

Clearly he's heading for work.

A soft smile formed on Eianne's face, her heart warming at her father's affection. Despite his strict nature, she knew that he was the best father she had ever had.

Time passed and it's suddenly evening.

Eianne was getting herself ready for tonight's birthday celebration, with her mother by her side helping her prepare. The room was filled with the soft scent of perfume as Mrs. Joanne carefully assisted her with the final touches, making sure every detail of her appearance was perfect. From adjusting her dress to arranging her hair, her mother's gentle hands added a sense of warmth and comfort to the preparation. Eianne looked at herself in the mirror, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation for the celebration ahead.
