Delilah's tree house was on fire, something red was thrown out the window as the flames went higher. I quickly killed the fire at its base and continued to spray the white frothiness across the wall of the tree. Once I was sure the wood was cool enough to touch I climbed on the crusty latter and it instantly crumbled underneath my weight. I eventually pulled myself up onto the wooden boarded floor of the tree house. About a 5 ft jump, maybe... It was still really smokey in here. A body? Is that? Wait... No.... It can't be..... DELILAH!!!!!!

I practically jumped on top of her as I was checking her for signs of life. She had a faint pulse and her breathing was faint but heavy, she wasn't burnt at all, no injuries at all. I was so relieved I nearly cried for her. I picked her up and put her over my shoulder as I jumped through the window and landed in that cool Spider-Man pose she used to love. I smiled in my thoughts, if she knew this was Going on she'd be so giggly. I carried her back to the old cabin-like shack we had called the play house and smiled as I planned our reunion. We could go to that smoothie place she liked so much and then check out a movie, I could take her shopping and buy her everything she even glanced at. We could have a party next weekend just the two of us and a twilight marathon. I know I sound gay but she was really into this stuff. I guess for her a twilight movie is as interesting as sleeping is to me. When we finally reached the shack I laid her down on the shelf and wrapped her up in the blanket. It was getting chilly as the day was almost completely faded away. I lit a few candles and started a fire in the fire place. Which although it was really hard without matches or a lighter it was worth it, she's afraid of the dark and well it's cold. Really cold. I finally lit the fire and walked back around the wall and stared at her. She was out cold, her breathing was better and her pulse seemed stronger. I kissed her forehead and headed towards the door for some fire wood. I turned back to look at her when I got to the door frame. For the first time in my life I was tempted to do more than just a kiss on the cheek, or a little goodbye hug. "What's wrong with me?" I thought as I hit my head on the door frame. I couldn't ever do that to her. I love her way too much to take advantage of her helplessness. I went out a few yards to the wood pile and took a few logs in my arm. A little black rat snake decided to attempt to bite me. "Back off, I'm not doing anything to you shrimp." I snapped at it. He immediately slithered away. Yeah I can talk to snakes. It doesn't come in handy very often but it's still kinda cool.

I returned to the cabin and set the wood on the table. I turned around and found that Delilah had gotten up. I went around the wall and saw her creeping around. "Ahem" I said as I tapped her shoulder, expecting a big hug from her when she saw me. She swiftly turned around and started cautiously backing away, as if I were a threat. She was getting closer to the fire, it's as if she hadn't felt the heat of the flame as she got closer and closer to it. "Hey, Wait! Stop!'' I nearly yelled as her foot instantaneously slammed into the burning fire. She pulled her foot from the fire and whimpered from the extreme pain as she knelt and held the skin just above the burn. I picked her up by her slim waist and placed her on the low table. She's always been a fast healer, but to numb the pain I poured cold water over the burn. She seemed to feel relieved as she felt the cold water consume the burn. I looked at it closely, making sure her skin was healing at her usual pace. I could feel her beautiful purple eyes watching me intently. "It's already starting to heal, you should be fine.'' I said making sure my positive attitude shone bright. She nodded and wiped her tears away.her hands covered her hips where I had held them. Is she ok? She seems different. I couldn't help but stare at her in an attempt to figure out what had changed "Thank you... For saving me." She finally said, with resentment filling her voice. I gave a nod. "Yeah, don't worry about it." I said. It wasn't a big deal, she would have done the same for me right? She suddenly seemed some what interested in me. She slid off the table and hobbled around on one foot. It was really cute, I had to overcome the smile that my lips where trying to form. Without thinking I held her hair gently attempting to stroke it. It had gotten a lot longer. She slapped my hand and in response I pulled her close and kissed her neck. When ever she would hit me, which happened a lot, I used to kiss her instead of the wound. So I was only trying to keep our tradition. She started screaming and pushing on me, I could feel her heart rate increasing. It kept going faster and faster, I was so focused on it that I didn't pay attention to what she was screaming or the fist that socked me in the nose. I immediately stumbled back and just looked at her. Her eyes burned with anger and fear displayed itself her face. Her hand was placed over her heart and her nails looked like they where gonna rip a Chunk of flesh Out. She looked like she could pass out at any moment. Her frantic breathing scared me. I came closer, ready to catch her in case she fell. "Hey, are you okay?" I asked, deeply concerned. She turned around to open the door, I forgot I locked it because the wind was blowing it open. In a big rush she broke the window and climbed out. My eyes became wide as the realization hit me. She is terrified of me..... I unlocked the door and ran into the night, only to find her passed out in the yard.
