The sky over Pelican Town is a heavy, dark gray, and a steady downpour has turned the dirt paths into mud. On days like this, the fields don't need watering, giving you a rare afternoon of completely free time.

​Looking for a dry place to escape the chill, you head into town. The rain has driven everyone indoors, leading to some quiet, cozy encounters around the valley.

​The Bachelorettes

​Abigail:

You find her standing right under the awning of the Wizard's tower in the Cindersap Forest, completely soaked but staring up at the stormy sky with a thrilled look. "Isn't the lightning incredible?" she yells over the thunder, pulling you under the small shelter next to her.

​Haley:

She is trapped inside her house, pacing the living room. When you knock and walk in, she sighs with immense relief. "Thank goodness, someone sane. The rain is totally ruining my hair, and the cable is out. Can we just sit on the couch and gossip?"

​Leah:

Her cottage smells like cedarwood and warm tea. She opens the door with a paintbrush behind her ear and a bright smile. "Come in, come in out of the cold! The sound of rain on the roof is perfect background noise for painting. Want to sit by the fire?"

​Maru:

He is stuck inside his grandparents' house, Restlessly lifting weights in the living room. He sets the dumbbells down when you walk in, wiping sweat from his forehead. "Man, I hate being trapped inside. Want to help me practice my indoor footwork drills so I don't lose my mind?"

​Elliott:

He opens the door to his beach cabin, the sound of the crashing ocean waves incredibly loud behind him. He smiles warmly, gesturing inside. "A traveler from the tempest! Please, join me. A rainy day is the ultimate muse for a writer. I was just about to brew a pot of hot tea."

​Harvey:

The clinic is completely empty and quiet except for the steady patter of rain on the windows. He looks up from his desk, taking off his glasses with a relieved smile. "Ah, the new farmer. He is in his basement room, the dim blue light of his computer screen reflecting in his eyes as a thunderstorm playlist echoes softly. He spins around in his chair. "Rainy days are the best. Nobody expects you to go outside. Sit down on the couch, I'm just finishing up some freelance work."

​Shane:

He is sitting on the covered porch of Marnie's ranch, holding a fluffy white chicken in his lap to keep it dry. He looks up as you walk up the steps. He doesn't tell you to leave this time. Instead, he gently hands the chicken to you. "Here... hold her for a second. She likes the warmth."
