The year was 2066. We don't remember much about when it happened or why... but we do remember two things. A pitch black sky, and a starry dark blue fog. After that day a new government was in charge calling themselves "the onlookers". Stupid name for a government group if you asked me. Nobody knows how they got into power, there wasn't any election and no one had ever heard of the party. They were just there after the phenomenon, and since the world was in shambles nobody could really do anything to stop it. They spread themselves across all the countries and made one rule. Only the strongest survive. You have till your nineteen, then you must prove yourself. You want food? Kill. You want luxury? Kill. You want to KEEP that luxury? Kill. Criminals were rewarded while innocents paid the price.
No country was safe, most people tried to stop having children all together but of course the government wanted their game to continue. So they offered ginormous rewards for any women who would willingly give themselves. For the greedy or desperate that obviously drew a lot of attention. And unfortunately for anyone who didn't wish to be born into this hell hole... there were still ladies who lusted for the touch of a man. As much as the population seemed to dwindle it seemed to multiply just as fast. There was no way out, some people were sick enough to actually enjoy the killing. People will never fully agree to no killing so the game will go on... I promised myself I would never have a child and yet here I am. Cradling a little baby in my arms and staring helplessly at the picture of my next target.
Oh my sweet child... I hope you never find love... for this kind of decision is the hardest to make of all...
