Title: Bound by Vows, Tested by Hearts
Part One: A Gentle Beginning
The wedding had been arranged long before either of them had much say in it.
For their families, it was a union of respect, tradition, and status.
For Jimin, it was stepping into an unfamiliar life.
For Yoongi, it was accepting a responsibility he had quietly agreed to carry.
The wedding ceremony was grand, filled with smiling relatives, bright lights, and endless congratulations. To everyone watching, they looked like the perfect couple.
But beneath the smiles, they were simply two strangers promising to build a life together.
The first morning after the wedding, Jimin woke up earlier than everyone else.
He carefully made the bed, straightened his clothes, and quietly walked downstairs, nervous about meeting his new family.
"Good morning, sweetheart," Yoongi's mother greeted with a warm smile. "You didn't have to wake up this early."
Jimin bowed politely.
"I wanted to help."
"Oh, you're such a thoughtful child," his father-in-law said kindly. "Come, sit. Breakfast is almost ready."
The kindness eased some of Jimin's anxiety.
Then Yoongi entered the dining room, his hair messy from sleep.
Without saying much, he noticed Jimin standing awkwardly.
"Sit down," Yoongi said calmly. "You're family now. You don't need to stand."
Jimin hesitated before sitting beside him.
Throughout breakfast, Yoongi quietly served Jimin tea whenever his cup emptied and passed him dishes before anyone had to ask.
He wasn't overly affectionate.
He simply paid attention.
And somehow, that felt comforting.
Over the next several days, Yoongi continued treating Jimin with gentle care.
Whenever Jimin struggled to find something in the large house-
"It's in the second cabinet," Yoongi would say before Jimin even asked.
When Jimin forgot to bring a sweater during a chilly evening-
Yoongi silently placed his own jacket over Jimin's shoulders.
"You'll catch a cold."
Jimin looked up in surprise.
"...Thank you."
Yoongi only nodded.
"It's nothing."
Even Yoongi's family seemed genuinely welcoming.
His mother complimented Jimin's cooking.
His father asked about his hobbies.
His younger cousins followed Jimin around the house, asking him to play games.
For the first time since the marriage, Jimin allowed himself to believe...
Maybe this wouldn't be so difficult.
Maybe happiness was possible.
One evening, while washing dishes together, Yoongi quietly spoke.
"You don't have to try so hard."
Jimin blinked.
"I don't understand."
"You keep apologizing."
Jimin lowered his eyes.
"I just don't want to disappoint anyone."
Yoongi sighed softly.
"You won't disappoint me."
Those simple words settled warmly in Jimin's heart.
For the first time since the wedding...
He smiled without forcing it.
But happiness has a strange habit of changing without warning.
As the first week came to an end...
The warm smiles around the dining table slowly began to fade.
The compliments became criticism.
The gentle requests became expectations.
And Jimin had no idea...
That the home he had just started calling his own...
Was about to become the hardest place to live.
