I DON'T OWN GAME OF THRONES OR BILLY THE KID. ALL RIGHTS BELONG TO GEORGE R.R. MARTIN & MICHAEL HIRST RESPECTIVELY. I WAS INSPIRED BY RE WATCHING BOTH SHOWS AND I WONDERED WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE KID PLAYED THE GAME OF THRONES
Stinking Springs Ruins. Taiban, Territory of New Mexico. December 23, 1880.
He wasn't going to be taken alive; he had already decided that before the posse had even arrived at the shepherd's hut. Sheriff Pat Garrett wanted his prize: Capturing or killing Billy the Kid and the fame that came with it. It made Billy want to smoke nails if he could light them. Pat had been a decent friend to Billy and he'd returned the favor in kind. How could a man throw away something as precious as a decent friend? It didn't make a lick of sense to Billy. In the end, it probably didn't matter much. Pat had made his choice, so Billy was going to make his.
He looked around at his remaining friends: Jesse Evans: they'd once been enemies when he had fought for the House, but Jesse finally saw the truth and switched to the Regulators. It took a while for Billy to forgive Jesse for all he'd done, but eventually their friendship was repaired. There was also George Coe, who'd been with the regulators since the beginning, and Henry Brown, another good guy. There had been many other good men among Billy's gang, but they'd all been gunned down by the criminals working for The House.
"Hey Billy, how you holed up in there?" Pat asked aloud as he started to reload his rifle. The kid rolled his eyes; as if the Sheriff gave a flying fuck. He just wanted to make sure that 1 of his boys hadn't stolen the reward money by wasting Billy early.
"How about you come inside and find out for yourself?" Billy challenged, eager to put a bullet in the head of that corrupt, turncoat, piece of shit.
"Ah no, I'm fine out here!" Pat shot back, sarcasm dripping from his mouth like venom from the fangs of a snake. "You can come out though; be a little sociable!"
"Yeah, right!" Billy chuckled as that was just what Garrett wanted. Billy knew that if he surrendered, it was the gallows for him. Pat was going to make sure that Billy died at the end of a noose. Lawrence Murphy, James Dolan, and Thomas Catron would dance a jig on his grave. Besides, that shit swallower Bob Olinger was eager to save the hangman the trouble. Just gun him down; just like what had happened to Alexander McSween and Charlie Bowdre. He wasn't going to give either of those bastards the satisfaction of killing Billy The Kid.
"Hey, Pat!" The kid called out.
"Yeah?" The Sheriff replied.
"Go fuck yourself!" Billy shouted as he took another shot at his mortal enemy; which unfortunately richocheted off the wagon said mortal enemy was taking cover behind. If Pat wanted to kill him, Billy was sure as Hell going to make his ass work for it.
"No one else has to die today!" Pat offered as he knew he had the upper hand. All of this was just delaying the inevitable. "You're surrounded, Billy; you got no chance! Come on out!"
"Come on out, Billy!" Olinger snarled as he had a craving to shoot the kid down like a mad dog. The response from inside the shepherd's hut was more shooting; which was eagerly returned from Sheriff Garrett's posse. Pat knew deep down that Billy wasnt going to come out and it was time to end this.
"Okay fine, Billy! Have it your way!" Pat relented as he turned to Bob Olinger. "Smoke 'em out!" Olinger quickly made a molotov cocktail, the poor man's grenade. The cur then lit the rag ablaze and flung it into the shepherd's hut; which got a strong fire going.
"Son of a bitch!" Jesse exclaimed as the regulators knew that they were in even deeper shit; if such a thing was possible.
"Put that fire out, damn it; use the dirt!" Billy ordered as his boys did their best to snuff out the flames. It didn't help much because the other members of the Sheriff's posse began to make and fling their own molotov cocktails at the hut; which went up in flames faster than a Roman candle. The regulators tried to keep up the fight, but the smoke began to circle around the Kid and his gang.
"Billy, we gotta surrender...we gonna die in here..." Jesse said through his coughs as the Kid could no longer see his pals.
"We gonna die out there...same difference..." Billy spoke theough his own hacking as he tried to keep fighting, but everything disappeared in a haze of grey. As Billy breathed his last, 1 thought ran through his mind:
It was always gonna end like this...weren't it?

When his eyes opened, Billy found himself in a dark room. Yet, there was some light to it and he could see a figure in a flowing black robe. It was a human, but Billy couldn't say for certain if it was a man or a woman.
"Who the Hell are you?" Billy asked as he tried to reach for his 6 shooter, but found that he could not move his arms or legs.
"The Stranger and my domain is death." The being said with a smirk.
"So...you gonna send me to Hell?" Billy asked as he refused to beg this demon for more time. He would stand tall and take his sentence.
"No...I mean to offer you another chance at life: William H. Bonney." The Stranger said, keeping the smirk on its face. "Some are too interesting to die. The realm that I watch over is in need of a man of your talents. If you wish to ride for justice and freedom, do it there. But death will surely ride with you."
"What kind of trick is this...nothing you say makes sense!" Billy exclaimed as the Stranger snapped its fingers and the outlaw vanished.
"Since when does death make sense?" The stranger asked with a chuckle.
