Summary: Michael's a passenger princess <333
W/C: 805
A/N: I passed my driving theory the other day (YAYYYY!!!) which made me think about this scenario ;))
As Michael reaches the car to insert his key into the driver's side door, you stand at the top of the stairs. Your lips press together, words sitting on the edge of your tongue. Eventually, your mouth opens to suggest, "why don't I drive?"
Freezing slightly to process your words, Michael looks over to you still beside the front door to reinforce, "you don't even have a license."
"Yet," you sneakily correct him. Suddenly remembering the card in your wallet, you quickly pull it out of your pocket for him to vaguely read from afar. "It's a provisional," you explain, "I can drive if someone with a license is with me."
"I don't know, Y/N," Michael sighs, opening the driver's door slowly.
"What? Think women can't drive or something?" You tease him, unable to contain your smile as his head immediately shoots up.
"No, of course not," he quickly denies, entering a brief moment of panic before realising you're joking.
Eventually, Michael gives in to the excited smile playing over your face. If he decided to continue with his initial choice to drive instead, he would only view himself as evil to even reject your request.
"Come on," he nods towards the car as a gesture for you to take over. You instantly beam, floating down the stairs and taking the key which has unlocked the car door.
Michael moves towards the passenger seat as you adjust the seat to your liking. Brushing your fingers over the steering wheel, he watches beside you with an amused expression. You open a pair of sunglasses to place over your face before throwing your handbag into the backseat.
Turning the key into the ignition, the car immediately starts. "How's your lessons going?" Michael asks as you turn the wheel and begin moving.
"Good," you nod, checking your surroundings as the car drives around a fountain, "my instructor says I'm ready to take the test soon."
Nearing the gates, a crowd of fans gather to hold up signs, gifts, and vinyls of Michael's albums to showcase their support. "How the hell am I supposed to get past this?" You wait for an operator to signal you through, cautious not to hit anyone.
"They'll make way," Michael reassures with a small laugh. Once open, you begin to make your way through the gates as fans attempt to reach closer vicinity to the car. Security form somewhat of a barrier to prevent them from obstructing your path.
Michael waves his hand to everyone, pressing his fingertips to his lips as a way of blowing kisses, the fans' cheers erupt louder as a few even cry.
With the help of slowly but surely making it through, you're brought to a main route of the road as you absentmindedly glance at the rearview mirror. Finding that some cars which contain fans are actually following you and Michael.
"It's normal," Michael notices as your eyes slightly widen at the insight of what he has to deal with on a regular basis.
You begin to speed up a little, changing gears on time, before coming to a stop at a red traffic light. Another car is already waiting beside you. Two men. One turns his head and smirks at the sight of you behind the wheel.
Annoyingly sounding the horn in an attempt to extract your attention, his elbow nudges his friend in the passenger seat to nod over at you. Instinctively glancing over in the direction of where the horn came from, your eyes lock with the two men who glare lustfully back at you.
The driver demonstrates a performance through licking his lips as an interactive smile comes over you at the gesture. You aren't even flustered, just amused by his attempt to impress you.
Michael's head has also turned from the sound of the initial horn. His expression grimaces at what he's seeing as he inches forward and finally comes into their view.
Their entire face drops in disbelief of seeing Michael Jackson in the passenger seat of your car. Technically it's his, but they don't know that. Regardless, you laugh even harder at their new reaction to the man beside you as the traffic light turns green and you move forward.
They stay still in place, completely taken aback from being noticed by the most famous superstar of all time. Despite wearing sunglasses, his face is easily recognisable.
As the lights have since been green for so long already, other cars which have been waiting behind sound their horn to highlight their frustration. Brought out of their trances, one man holds his hand outside of the window to signal his apology for the delay.
Meanwhile, with Michael, he's genuinely entertained, "did you see their faces?" You nod with a wide smile. "Serves them right for looking at you like that."
