Summer

As the lake calms down,

It's a beautiful view,

The mountains,

All white capped and grey.

There are lush forests on these mountains,

Away from the town.

Deep in the forest is my clubhouse,

Unable to be found.

I go there to find peace.

I bring friends there,

They can never remember the way.

Inside my clubhouse is cozy,

My hammocks are there when I want a nap,

My games and toys for play,

But on some other days,

All I feel is lonely.

My books on the shelf near the window,

Where the birds perch.

It's time for adventure.

I go past the flowers and trees,

'Till I find a lake,

I follow until daybreak.

There I find a waterfall,

Sparkling in the sun.

It flows,

It crashes,

All day long.

The river,

My new home,

My new way to go,

I've done my adventure,

Now it's time to go home.
