The First Smile

The first day of college.

A day everyone waits for.

New friends. New classrooms. New memories.

Yuna, however...

was already running late.

"Oh no... today's my first day!"

She hurried across the campus, trying to read the map in one hand while holding her coffee in the other.

"I swear this college is a maze!"

Without looking ahead-

Thud!

She bumped into someone.

Her balance slipped.

The coffee almost spilled.

Before she could fall...

a hand gently caught her wrist.

For a second...

everything became quiet.

She slowly looked up.

A boy stood in front of her.

Calm eyes.

Messy black hair.

A white shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

He didn't look angry.

He just looked...

quiet.

"Ah!"

She quickly stood straight.

"I'm so sorry! Thank you for saving me."

He simply nodded.

Then turned around and started walking away.

Yuna blinked.

"Hey!"

He stopped.

She folded her arms.

"Where are you going?"

He looked back without saying a word.

She smiled brightly.

"Aren't you supposed to say 'It's okay' after someone thanks you?"

For the first time that morning...

the corner of his lips lifted into the tiniest smile.

It disappeared almost immediately.

Then he continued walking.

Yuna stared at his back.

"...Idiot."

He heard it.

He paused for a second.

But instead of turning around...

he kept walking.

Yuna couldn't help smiling.

"What a weird guy."

Little did she know...

that quiet stranger would one day become the person she could never imagine living without.
