My name is Drake. Most people call me Drake-chan, because of my petite, shy and feminine ways. Also because I'm quite short, and to be honest, I wouldn't hurt a fly! Anyways, today is a special day; not my birthday, not Christmas, not even Canada day! It's the first day of my life at Rhyme High; AKA, The School of Rap.
My dainty shoes tap against the stone ground, and I take a deep breath in, surrounded by falling cherry blossoms. "Sugoi na! I can't believe I'm a high schooler! I'm so ready to do my best!!!" I smile up at the sky, and my enthusiastic fist pumping is cut short when somebody's arm makes rough contact with my little shoulder.
"Watch where you're goin', short stock." I grumble as I look up, being sensitive about my height . "Who're you calling short sto-..." I pause. This boy is. . Stunning! I blush and look down, scowling as he chuckles and walks off. My heart thumps as I watch my shoes go back and forth.
"Wh-who... Was that..?" I look back up to the drifting cherry blossoms and sigh. " who am I kidding, I shouldn't think that way about such a bully... " I shake my head as those thoughts leave it, and smile as I once again ready myself to pursue my educational prowess. I gasp slightly at the sheer amount of people entering the building, and a slight feeling of competition begins brewing within me.
A few minutes pass, and everybody attending the school gathers in the gym, where the principle stands atop a stage, supposedly to give a start-of-the-year speech. I silence myself, but my heart keeps on thumping out of excitement as the principle clears his throat to silence the crowd.
"Good morning, everyone. I am Theodore Brooks, the principle of Rhyme High. If you were unaware, I was part of the group which created the first rap song. I will be keeping an eye on all of you and your progress within the rap industry, along with the supervision and teachings of our wonderful teachers and staff. I expect great things from you all. Now, we will have you sort yourself into multiple rows, and you will be given your homeroom number."
I quickly shuffled myself into the nearest forming line, standing as straight and upright as I could. I glance to my right, and see another boy wearing some sort of black and white mask, head turned away from me. I look to my left, and.. It's the guy from earlier?!? I gulp and look forwards again, waiting to receive my homeroom number.
It's not long before a staff member comes to my with a clipboard, filled with papers. "What's your name?" I straighten up. "It's Drake, miss." She looks down, flipping through her papers for a second before looking back up at me. "You're in room 314, with Mr. Dumile." I nod. I'm aware that the teachers are intermediate rappers, but I'm not sure I've heard the name before. I'm sure it'll come to me, though.
"And your name?" " Kendrick. " the boy from earlier responds somewhat dryly. "Kendrick, huh? Sounds kinda... Mythical." I think, not realising I'm staring right at him. I quickly look forwards, brushing the thoughts away. " Ghr... I'm being such a baka on the first day..! C'mon Drake, lock in!! "
