He said,

"Liar, liar, pants on fire, I found your cell phone desires! I've seen this before and I will NOT do this again!"

"Eva."

His soft voice cut through the silence following the crash, like someone spoke the first words of man.

There's no way it's him. This isn't how it was supposed to go. I sent him away, he wasn't supposed to come back.

It feels like someone is sliding a knife through my chest slowly and painfully, and I deserved it.

I knew I did. It was always coming for me, and I couldn't avoid it anymore.

"Dr. Grace." I respond, my voice quavering. The space between us was unbearable, my office space all of the sudden felt very suffocating.

"Eva, you don't have to call me that" Ryland said, stepping foreword towards me. Brushing a piece of hair out of my face, he cups my chin, forcing me to look up at him.

"You know my name, don't you?"

"Yes."

"So?"

I couldn't get out anything, just choking on a sob.

He's here. He's real. He doesn't hate me.

He pulled me into a hug, wrapping his arms around me protectively. "Shh, shh it's okay, I'm right here Eva" He murmured, stroking my back as I sobbed.

"I'm not supposed to miss you! I'm not supposed to ***love*** you, this isn't how it was supposed to go!"
