But nagito? He is one of the most popular students. Almost the mascot of the school itself because he is the ultimate lucky student so you and him are polar opposites.
Class was really really boring you were constantly getting bothered by either Hiyoko Saionji the ultimate traditional dancer or Ibuki Mioda the super highschool-level Light music club member but yeah this is just a normal unlucky day for you you take a few glances at Nagito but no... You guys are both boys and he probably has a girlfriend... You sigh it's never going to happen you might as well just listen in class, shocking you fall asleep on your table once you wake up to the lunch bell you check your bag only to see... No bento box thanks to your bad luck no way your eating that gross cafeteria food! So you sit alone with no food Hiyoko notices and says "haha your sitting alone what a performative pig!" You bury your face into your hands trying to ignore her after awhile the bell rings and everyone goes to the classroom still everything is just so boring sigh you zone out and suddenly.
the dismissal bell rings it starts to rain you grab an umbrella then suddenly it gets struck by lightning you stand there soaking in the rain.
Nagito rushes towards you "hey are you okay?" You ask look at him and reply "you shouldn't be talking to me it's better to just leave I'll give you bad luck..." Nagito looks directly at you and says "no, no, no I want to stay" you sigh and reply "if you say so..." You guys start walking.
You, still unsure about this, you say to him "you might regret this in the future..." He quickly replies "oh I swear it's all good and maybe just maybe you will balance out my good luck!" "... Okay but can we exchange numbers please" you say a little hesitantly "yay! Ok here" you guys type each other's numbers on their phones. Nagito texts you a little "hi!"
To test it out. Nagito says "hmm maybe we should stop by for food or something!" You reply knowing you didn't eat "yeah sure I forgot my food at lunch time..." you guys make your way and get food. "Mmm this is really good!" You say no longer starving. And at this moment you realise that you actually got to walk and eat with nagito? Nagito hums a little bit "so um have you are eating here before?" He says as an icebreaker you notice that and reply "eh never before" nagito replies "do you wanna visit Hajime at the reserve course building?" Ooh yeah! Hajime is one of your best friends because you relate to him with having practically no talent at all Too bad you guys were separated and you reply to Nagito quickly noticing he knows your zoning out "of course!" Nagito responds "okay see you tomorrow!" then you guys part ways and walk home "goodbye!" Nagito says enthusiastically. You match his energy with a little "bye!"
Once you get home it's almost midnight your half asleep and then you hear a notification. It's Nagito
"Ong it's so late :/ are you still awake" you reply with a series of separated texts "_;£;£+dhdbnixks
Uhh yeah I thinkp?" He replies quickly"oh you seem pretty sleepy do you want me to leave you alone" you reply "oh uhfhdip yes pls" "oh ok ok goodnight" he replies, you make an effort to respond saying "gn lovp youwp" he looks at what you just said, heart doing back flips "love you too?" Your eyelids feel really heavy And then you fall asleep that concludes your first day with nagito.
Maybe not having a good talent isn't so bad after all.
Nagito's POV (you are addressed as "you")
He wakes up and gets his phone to message you he gets flustered after seeing the messages you guys have shared so far he feels like something is missing... Oh yeah! The plans he had to visit the reserve course building.
You arrive five minutes late thanks to your luck but you managed to find Nagito at the gates. He notices you walking to him and his face lights up "oh hi!" He looks at you then you respond with "hello I'm sorry I'm late let's get to the reserve course building" we start our walk to the reserve course building. I try to save the awkwardness by saying "damn the building is so far away" you respond "yeah... You're really close to hajime huh..." Why did he seem jealous? That's kinda strange for someone like him... I respond "oh yeah not that much I come to visit sometimes though" that was a big lie I got to this building every school day I just didn't want him to be jealous because I don't know? He just seemed really jealous... he's also close to hajime right? He replies with "ooh.." I feel the tension so I say "is there something wrong? You seem kinda down..." He responded with "oh no it's nothing" I didn't want to push it so I stopped. It was silent the rest of the walk.
Once we arrived we walked to hajime's classroom since class hasn't started we are going to go back here for lunch since this place has better food. I welcome him with "hi hajime how are you doing!" Hajime turns from his table and says "hello I knew you would come! You come here everyday!" The ultimate unlucky student who hasn't talked since stares at me knowing I lied about going to this building that much.
We go outside and start talking, Hajime and him have started talking more frequently thankfully because it felt so awkward sigh we start studying after that wow so interesting just to summarise Hajime helped so much for a reserve course student. Class starts and we head back to our building I was really distracted not because of Hiyoko or Ibuki but because I kept on stealing glances at him why am I doing this? Strange. I kept on pushing through though. I realised that he wasn't here in awhile... So I excuse myself to the bathroom it's only been two days yet I know what's happening. I of course didn't go to the bathroom because I saw him outside I walk outside.
I walk over to him "hey... You've been acting really strange lately and I tried to brush it off but that didn't seem to work" he looks at me "like I said it's nothing... Don't worry about me please go away." Is he trying to distance himself from everyone he seemed to have a good time with Hajime though... It's not because of him right?... is it because of me? I just really want to know, it's only been a few days and I care to much...
I'll still try to do something even if he won't speak up "it's okay to feel that way, I'll leave you be... For now" I didn't need him to reply I walked of hearing the lunch bell. Oh yeah we were supposed to go to the reserve course building's cafeteria for lunch! I sigh and turn back "are we still going to go to the reserve course cafeteria?" He looks up at me and replies "that would be okay..." We walk silently to the reserve course cafeteria.
