Remembrance

It had been days past the events that happened at the surface of Cabin Fever, when the final battle of Copper 9 shook the planet to its core. If you had asked V how many days went by, she wouldn't be able to tell you. She was happy as-is without murdering any drones nor killing them, things were much better off being friends with Uzi and living here with N. The fact that so many of the worker drones simply accepted her and N was something she never overlooked, especially not after what had happened that fateful day.

She'd give her many thanks in return, but not only that, would give herself to protect the people she's around now. If they meant anything to Uzi or N, she'd be as loyal as she'll ever be to guide them away from harm unlike before when N and herself became camp leaders.

So, how come, when laying in bed and looking up at the ceiling of her newfound room over the past few days... she can't stop feeling something that's missing? Like a part of her that can't help but point itself out without any clear clue or evidence to why that is? Why, then, does she feel as if something simply didn't sound or feel right?

V sighed and began to chuckle through her breath, shifting herself to sit slouched at the edge of the mattress. Her neon yellow eyes show an expression that simply hadn't cared to think about such a thing, but everything within her body said otherwise. That was... how it always was for her. But she's a changed person now, a better person than before. Maybe, if she had talked to someone about it, she'll feel better about it.

Honestly though, how would she go about it? She contemplated it whilst she stood up from the bed and walked to the exit of her room, opening it with a simple press of a button. Her body stepped afoot into the lit-up hallway where the lights were blaring, something that-- even if she lived here for a few days herself, would have to get used to. Prior to her stay at this building, she wasn't used to waking up in such bright lights.

"Heya, V!"

That voice sounded familiar. Yeah, there's no doubt about it, that's her goofball of a friend. She turned her head to her right and witnessed him hurrying to her with enthusiastic waving. He stopped once he reached her and placed both hands on his hips, looking as if he was proud of something.

"Oh, N." She said with a smile. After everything in the past, she's happy to know he's been alright.

"Goooood morning! You look like you slept like a baby! Or... what does a baby look like when they're fully refreshed?"

N rubbed his chin with his right hand as he glanced elsewhere before turning his gaze back to V.

"Anyways! Uzi's waiting for us at the classroom, come join us! Wouldn't want to leave her hanging!" He was about to run off to catch up with Uzi.

As always, V knew he was as enthusiastic as ever. That's not something she hates or despises though, neither is it something she'll find herself being frustrated at. She knows he's been through a lot. She accepts it, really, everything that he is. A good person.

"Nah, sorry. I'll sit this one out." V had replied with a bit of a forced smile.

"Woah, hold up." N's expression had quickly begun to change, showing concern as he stopped and turned to look back at V.

V's eyes perk up-- well, they've been perked up, but N's interjection began to make her more aware.

"You feeling alright, V? You usually never skip class."

This feeling had persisted over these past couple days and it was a feeling she couldn't ignore anymore, but how could she tell him when he seems so happy to be here without anything worrying him? How could she ruin this... perfectly good life that they're both having?
