It's been a year since Vecna vandalized hawkins
Around town, citizens believed that a sudden split was due to an earthquake that has no explanation to it. In reality, this supernatural event was caused by Vecna and his success in opening a colossal chasm across Hawkins.
Hawkins was now the gate between dimensions, the Upside Down spores had spread over Hawkins.
Max was still in the hospital. The doctors couldn't explain what she's in and deemed that she's in a coma
Society has returned to its originality. School is still going on, Mothers are still going to the store, Jobs are being run by teenagers, and the party?
The party is trying to fit in society again and forgetting the last years of "adventures". Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will are officially Seniors. Stuck behind work, enjoying each other's company, and overall enjoying the time they have left as high schoolers.

Oh El
As much as she tries to hide she cannot for the sake of herself cannot return to being normal in this wicked world. Having so much time on her hands alone does not help this feeling.At night she cries herself to sleep convincing herself this mess was all her fault. During the day while watching TV with Hopper she cannot help but dissociate untill hopper snaps her out of it. When she is alone she can't help but imagine a life where all her friends are living the life they should've. Max would still be alive, probably skating, making fun of Mike, holding onto Lucas's arm and enjoying his presence, and even having a normal best friend. Will drawing and listening to the mixtapes Jonathan makes him, sleeping peacefully at night, and never having flashbacks of what he saw. Lucas playing basketball, enjoying his time in the arcade, and of course spoiling the girl he always sees in a medical bed. Dustin plays D & D with his buddy Eddie and spends time experimenting with his big mind. And Mike...

Mike would have been living the life he deserved with a normal girl who didn't have any burden on her. Who isn't a lab rat, who's pretty and normal without powers an-and blue eyes an-
"El?" she heard from her supercomm.
"El? It's Mike. I miss you" he said with a soft tone.
El got up from her bed, wiping away the tears she had coming down her cheeks. She took a deep breath and cleared her throat while putting on a voice that covered up what she had been doing seconds before
"hi mike... I missed you too." even though her voice was soft and melody Mike knew something was up... he always did
"Is there something wrong? Have you been crying?"
"Mike.. I-" those 4 darn words always mess her sensitive self up. Oh how much she hates being asked what's wrong it triggers a river of emotions
"I- I can't do it anymore Mike.. i can't handle this pain anymore i-" and there were just tears. As much as El tried to speak, her words could not be made out.
"El? El I- I'm on my way".
El doesn't know how long she was on the floor crying but once she heard the unlatching of her window and felt two big arms around her, she knew how long it had been.
"Shh El I'm here.
Mike repeated. Mike in one movement brought El into his lap wrapping one arm around her waist and the other was caressing her hair while giving her forehead kisses.
"I'm sorry"
"El what? Why are you sorry"
"For being different"
Mike removed his hand from her waist and moved it towards her face cupping her cheek in his hand
"El- No. No you're normal, your perfect-t. El look at me-e. talk"
just that one word unleashed a bag that was on El for the past year. El spoke the truth she spoke about her imagination, her guilt, and what had been holding her down.
"El n-no this is n-not your fault"
Mike said. he took her hand into his
"I wouldn't trade this life for any life. I would gladly a-and have the honor to be with you all 9 lives El. I know this isn't the life I expected when I was young and I know we've all been affected by it but El you're the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. You gave me purpose in life, you gave me something to wake up to everyday, you gave me hope that love does exist. You may not be like everyone else "normal," but that doesn't make you any different. I see you like how I see everyone else. I see a brave and beautiful girl tryin-no living her life to the fullest despite her trauma."
El's lip slightly lifted as she lowered her head down avoiding eye contact
"When I said that my life started when we found you in the woods, I mean it. El don't ever bring yourself down again you saved the world twice n-no three times! I couldn't even save myself from bullies!"
Mike and El both giggled. El couldn't even remeber what she was crying about, being with Mike helps El forget
Mike reached up and cupped her face with his hands
"Believe me when I say this El, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me an-and even if you're not normal I will always always.."
there was a pause before
" Love you. El I love you forever and will be here for you.."
El giggled and smiled as she felt her lips turn into the dorkiest smile. "I love you too mike thank you"
She said looking into his eyes. Their brown doe eyes stared at each other with much love. El may forever suffer with trying to forget the horrfic events she faced but with mike Mike makes her forget..
Mike helps clear her mind..
