Lights out

I was watching TV when suddenly the lights flickered and turned off. I tried to zap it back to life with my wiring, but it didn't work.

I asked my neighbor, Sylvia, who had no clue what was going on. "I'm not sure what happened either. The exact same thing happened to me, Lauren." She replied, but she seemed off in some way. Her dog tail usually wagged and her ears would occasionally flick and twitch whenever she saw me, but her special features would barely even move. The sparkle in her eyes were completely gone. It was as if she had been infected by something...

I went back to my house, and I checked out the wires in my electrical box outside, which were snipped, I figured some type of animal must have chewed them up, but it was snipped perfectly. I only knew one person who could have could have cut them, Fawn, the scientist, who also benefitted as an electrician.

I didn't want to bother him at the time, but I found some type of fur in the ground near the wires, so I took it to the lab to get DNA tested. I awaited the results, but I couldn't keep my eyes away from Sylvia, she was staring at the grass as she sat on her porch.

I was very worried for her. I had thought of way too many scenarios to count. Maybe it was a replacement and it wasn't the real Sylvia? Maybe she was taken over by a parasite? I wasn't quite sure.

I spent almost all night researching what was wrong with her.

What type of disease makes someone afraid of light?

No results found.

My friend won't stop staring at the grass, what do I do?

She might have autism.

How to tell if my friend is autistic

Damn it.

The next day, results came in. Fox DNA. Fawn. But there was something else. Golden retriever DNA. Sylvia...? There was a specific type of Rabies in her that could be cured, but the side effects made my microphone tail immediately stop wagging.

The fear of light. No wonder she froze up when I pointed my flashlight in her house, not even near her direction...

Not acting like oneself. She was acting off when I saw her.

Raise in aggression. Oh no...

I forgot to close the front door...
