I ran. My feet carried me away from the library, to my housing. I didn't care that my shirt was undone. My bra exposed, my skin bare feeling the cold air hit with a sharp pain due to the light drizzle. I didn't care that my feet were wet and frozen beneath me.
I just have to get home.
Home to him.
My protector.

I was studying in the library. I had a table just for me. My books open to the necessary pages, with my notes of what was going to be on these finals. Our finals had come and I spent the first week sitting around doing nothing. I let the boys know I was going to be here for a while since all the books of my classes were right here.
I just needed to text or call when I was about finished, but there was so much work to be done that time flew and I hadn't even noticed. I was no longer sitting in the chair at the table. I was on the floor. Used my backpack as a pillow with a text book resting on my stomach and a pen just clicking to make noise.
Only me and two others were in here, not including the librarian who often steps out and every couple can go have sex in the depths of the old history books. So gross. I for one haven't noticed that the lights had dimmed more. Making this library look hauntingly simple.
I got up and started putting all my journals back in my bad and the textbooks back on the shelf. When I got back to my bag I saw someone sitting in one of the seats. Just sitting, nothing special. At first I thought it was one of the guys, came to come get me from taking to long here. But the body build was different. Hair too short
I went to grab my bag but he grabbed it back. I don't know this guy so he should be doing this to me.
"Hello, Aurelia. I've been needing to talk to you."
"Aiden?" I loathe him, so do the boys. But I still never understood why they dislike Aiden.
"I just want to talk." He sat on the table. Gestured with his hand for me to sit on the chair I was closest to. I didn't feel comfortable so I just stood.
"Talk. It's late and I want to go home."
"Listen, there's things about those guys you don't know about."
"Like what? I've gotten pretty close to them the entire time I've been here."
I watched him pull something out of his pocket. The dim lights of the library made it hard for me to see what it was. All I know is it wasn't a piece of paper.
"They have their secrets. They hide it very well from you." He tells me and I hear a click noise. It's not the sound from a gun.
I saw the silver glisten between his fingers as he messed around with it. A pocket knife. I could feel my heart beating faster. I became scared and wondered why he had that. Why he needed that.
"You could be with anyone but you choose them." He walked towards the book shelf. He looked defeated, but I don't trust him.
"What?"
He moved so fast my brain couldn't comprehend what had happened fast enough. He pinned me to the table, knife close to my neck and him staring down at me. His eyes full of pain and anger. I'm panicked. Aiden was hovering over me, the knife close to my neck and I couldn't move.
My breathing fast and heavy. I tried to calm down, but what can a girl do with her life practically being played with here. In a fast motion he unbuttoned my shirt. Trailed the knife down. I could feel the coldness against my shin and it was unsettling.
"I wanted you the first day you got here." He tells me. His face close to mine and I could feel his breath on me.
His other hand moved down moving up my skirt.
"No sudden movements."
He sliced my panties and I yelped from the cool breeze I felt. He's not about to do this to me. I could feel my tears clouding my vision. Blinking them away I saw Aiden undoing his belt. While he was distracted I kicked him in the head making him stumble back. I quickly moved off the table and ran. Aiden screamed at me his words meeting my ears. The rage I heard in his voice.
He wanted me dead.
He wanted my boys to suffer without me.
He wanted them to feel his pain.
I can't let that happen.
I can't let him kill me here.
Not like this.
Not after I just made up with them.
Not when we are happy.
"Aurelia! Where the fuck are you!" His voice rang loudly in the library. I took my shoes off. Why do I always have to wear heels?
I snuck around the library. Moving through all the shelves. Watching him, listening and trying to escape this nightmare. When he was far away from me. I took off to the doors. I ran out the library and then ran out the school.
The cold air hit me like a truck, but I kept running. My entire body was cold but my life was on the line for me to worry about the cold. I didn't stop.
Once I reached my door. I tried opening it but it was locked. I banged and banged on the door. Like I was an angry neighbor. I yelled for them to open. Still banging and yelling. When the door finally opened. I met with Kai's eyes. The worry in them but I pushed past him. I looked amongst them and couldn't find him. I started tearing up now. Axle came up to me. Didn't embrace me but decided to check me out.
One said I was bleeding. Another wondered what was going on. I heard Christian ask why I'm crying. I was surrounded by their worried expressions. Axel held my hands trying to get answers from me. I wiped my eyes and saw Emre. He was walking down the stairs.
I pushed past everyone and ran to him. I hugged him tight, crying into his chest. His hand rested on the back of my head and I needed him to told me.
"Baby what happened?" Jax asked in a soft voice. I couldn't answer him. I couldn't bring myself to tell him anything. I couldn't tell any of them.
Finally Emre wrapped his arms around me. I felt protected. His strong arms always made me feel safe. So did Jax, but I needed Emre after what I just went through.
"Lia, tell me what happened." Emre's voice, low but firm. I looked up at him and his eyes were demanding me to tell him.
"I was studying at the library. Once I was down I was about to leave. And then Aiden."
"Aiden?" Xavier said from behind me.
"I think he tried to kill me." I sobbed.
Emre looked down at me. I could see the anger in his eyes.
"I'm going to kill him." Emre said passing me over to Xavier.
I watched at Emre and Jax headed for the door and left.
I felt alone without them here. I have my four other boys but I wanted to stay in Emre's arms longer.
"Come on. Let's get you cleaned up." Axel says to me. The most gentle voice I've ever heard from him.
