Water glistens under the light of the sun, as boats row along the river bank. Phon an only child was born in wealth and royalty where their family ruled over the people and attained peace everywhere they went. Phon laid his hand upon the water just below the dock, a bowl of fruits just beside him.
"Chao fa, it halt pleased his highness has appointed a servant in thy service."
Phons hand froze as the water moved freely beneath him, he sighed before standing up and momentarily drying his hands in the air.
"What soul has been appointed?"
He asked, grabbing the freshly plated fruit before taking a bite. His mother had made efforts to find him a proper servant to stay and take care of him, But as countless servants passed—none could handle his attitude.
"One in younger years, His highness deemed it for the better, seeing thou canst not hold a servant long."
The elder man responded, he couldn't help but laugh at the idea. Someone younger? If someone older than him couldn't last three days how can he?
Phon made his way to the manor. he could see the younger man kneeling just before his mother—clearly waiting for his presence.
"Canst thee arrive at the specified time?"
His mother complained. Phon greeted his mother before walking up to the servant bowing down just in front.
"Whence?"
He questioned, he couldn't see what the younger man looked. His head was lowered almost to the ground. After a few moments of silence, his mother spoke.
"The village not far from here, thou shall ought to be nothing but kindly to this young man."
She warned giving him a sly glare, phon stood up to try to take a closer look, the person just ahead did look like he was just a few years younger than him.
"What is thy name?"
For the first time, he gained curiosity by the presence wished upon him. His own mother, surprised by the question that would usually be dismissal.
"I am thy servant, kuen."
The young man's voice sounded so elegant that he oddly found it interesting. His own mouth, moving into a soft smile he himself wasn't aware of.
"Thou may rise, the service is noted."
The other servants looked at each other, as they watched the prince finally acknowledge a servant. The whole manor was shocked, but the young man seemed to not notice the commotion.
Kuen stood up at the order of the prince, he kept his head low. Just soon enough, The queen had ordered him to keep Phon accompanied by the dock.
It was a quiet silence. As Phon cut the silence and eventually talked.
"When we're alone, don't talk too politely."
Kuen was bewildered, he heard stories about this crazy prince who seemingly had a so-called temper, yet how come he sounded so kind..?
"I may not do this, Chao fa. It is beyond disrespectful for a mere servant to address you with such impoliteness."
Phon shook his head, a smile still evident in his lips, he couldn't explain why he found the very man in front of him was making him want to act so kind.
"I beg to differ."
phon insisted, as he sat at the edge of the dock. Normally he would make oblivious orders like to swim to entertain him or juggle the leaves without it falling, but seemingly he can't grasp the idea of the young man doing such idiotic things.
