Eight months after Savannah disappeared, everything changed.
Nobody heard from her after the shooting. Rumors said she moved down south. Others said she was hiding somewhere in Indiana scared HarborGang would come looking for revenge.
Dollaz stopped asking questions after a while.
The bullet wounds healed slower than expected. Some nights he couldn't sleep. Other nights he barely spoke at all.
Naya stayed around through everything.
Therapy appointments. Hospital visits. Long nights sitting beside him while he fought through pain pills, anger, and paranoia.
What started as comfort slowly turned into something deeper.
By the time winter ended, Naya wasn't just somebody he was messing with anymore.
She became the only person Dollaz trusted.
The streets of Benton Harbor looked different after the shooting.
More police.
More candles on sidewalks.
More yn's carrying guns like backpacks.
Everybody knew HarborGang was at war.
Rain poured over the city while black trucks lined the alley behind Dollaz mansion. HarborGang members stood outside smoking woods and watching every passing car carefully.
Inside, the vibe felt tense.
Dollaz sat at the kitchen counter shirtless, his bullet wounds still healing while Naya cleaned his stitches carefully.
"You need to slow down," she whispered.
Dollaz lit a blunt. "Bitch I Can't."
"You almost died."
"And?"
Naya looked at him frustrated. "You really don't care no more huh?"
Before Dollaz could answer, BG burst through the door laughing.
"This nigga Gwolla wild as hell!"
Gwolla walked in behind him grinning ear to ear while two women followed carrying bottles.
One was thick, lightskin, pretty smile.
The other had tattoos all over her thighs and long red hair.
Dollaz looked confused. "Bro you brought BOTH of them here?"
Gwolla shrugged casually. "They cool."
The women immediately started arguing.
"You told me I was the only one!" the red-haired girl snapped.
The lightskin rolled her eyes. "Girl shut up."
Gwolla laughed harder. "See what I'm dealing with?"
BG almost fell onto the couch laughing.
"This exactly how Dollaz used to be moving."
Naya side-eyed Dollaz instantly.
"Oh really?"
Dollaz sighed. "Man don't start."
Everybody laughed except Naya.
Deep down, the tension between them never really left after Savannah disappeared.
And the streets getting hotter only made things worse.
