Thunderstorms are a pain. That’s all I’m going to say about them.
Well actually, I changed my mind.
It’s not like I’m scared of thunder and lightning or anything- they’re actually pretty cool. When I’m safe and cozy in my house, of course.
I’ll tell you this- walking around in a storm is not cool. At all. The last time I did that, I almost got blown right off me feet and up into the sky. In Japan. But, of course, that is another story.
Anyway, like I was saying. Thunderstorms are a pain.
Whenever my parents hear thunder, or see lightning, they freak. Completely.
You know what? I think this will be faster…
What happens when lightning strikes and thunder rolls in the distance:
1. You get kicked off the computer or anything else that is connected to an electrical output by your paranoid parents.
2. You whine and complain over how bored you are.
3. You decide to play an hour of cards with your sister.
4. You whine and complain some more.
5. You eat dinner. When you finish dinner, you watch TV.
6. You wonder why you can watch TV while you can't use the computer.
7. You whine and complain some more.
8. Your parents finally give in and let you use the mini laptop.
9. You find out that they turned off the Internet...
10. You decide to start writing the story that you came up with the week before.
11. You write the prologue, all the while complaining (again) that your sister is singing her parody of "A Holly Jolly Christmas" too loud. (Which just so happens to be about a beetle.)
12. You get sidetracked and help your sister improve the parody.
13. You finish the prologue.
14. Your dad takes the laptop away saying it's time to go to sleep.
15. You whine and complain some more, saying that it's only ten 'o clock.
16. He doesn't buy it.
17. You pout while you get ready for bed.
18. You realize that you have a humongous amount of homework to do the next day from the lack of doing anything during the eight hour thunderstorm...
So there you have it. A typical thunderstorm in my household. Is your more interesting?
