His palm hit the wall behind her with a thump as he leaned in again and all thought was lost to her. She couldn’t think, not with his face so suddenly close to hers, his breath on her skin. All the menacing that had been there just a moment before was gone, replaced with simple curiosity now. So candid was his expression she actually questioned her own memories to whether she had seen really seen the threat there at all.

“Sera, do you want to be with me?”

Her automatic response was to say no, had her tongue pressed to the back of her teeth to say as much when she realized how he had changed his words. Had he meant to say with him?

But pausing was a mistake. He seemed to think it meant he had finally managed to get her to waver in her will. So he touched her, ran his knuckles down her cheek as a mischievous sparkle gleamed in his eyes.

Why him? She asked herself again. Had it been anyone else she knew she would have already been gone, but him…

“Now, don’t lie beauty, tell me honestly,” he said softly, his eyes pinning her where she stood, “was the waiter the only reason you agreed to come with me?”

No, no it wasn’t. She was going to get answers out of him, right? That was what she had planned to do right? Oh why was her mouth so dry all of a sudden? His seemed to be working just fine, stop staring at his lips Sera. Her eyes shot up to his, oh yes, so much better, she thought sarcastically.

“I…” just say it Sera, tell him it was so he’ll stop this, she scolded herself, “um,” she swallowed, her lips aching as she fought for one solitary word, yes.

She couldn’t look at him when she said it, was having a hard time believing it was the truth. And if she wasn’t sure it was the truth, then she couldn’t be sure it was a lie either…and if she didn’t believe it then neither would he. Again her tongue darted out as she set her mind, determined to just get this over with-

“Can you do that again,” he whispered almost…hungrily, once again breaking her concentration.

   “Do…do what?” she asked confused.

“Lick your lips,” he said on a breath of air.

Her eyes shot back to his, only they were locked on her mouth, his heated gaze waiting for her to oblige him.

She was shocked. He wanted her, like this? God she looked awful, her hair wasn’t even done, no makeup at all and he clothes were far from flattering. He shouldn’t want her like this, maybe when she had on the clothes back at the dorm and she had some time to do her hair- no Sera. She reminded herself that he shouldn’t want her at all and she shouldn’t want him. Wait, she wanted him?

Panic suddenly overtook her, she did.

Maybe not in that carnal way as his gaze suggested of her, but she could not deny she was attracted to him.

Of course she was. He was everything tall dark and handsome should be, the living breathing embodiment of perfection. Okay, so maybe not perfect, but more than Sera had ever expected to have breathing heavy over her. His nose seemed slightly a skewed, maybe because of a fight? But that only served to bring the masculinity to his otherwise soft features. That and the day old stubble darkening his cheeks and chin.

Did he rush to get ready this morning too, was that why he hadn’t shaved? Having not planned on taking the train more than a few hours ago she thought maybe he had.

His right eye was just a hair smaller then his left, two dark navy freckles in that sky blue iris that weren’t in the other as well. It was more than evident this close up even if she hadn’t noticed before. His almost too full lips sat just above a chin that stuck out a little farther than most. Not Jay Leno bad, but made it look as if he was pouting.
