Her previous grin was wiped off her face, her body temperature dropping. Not at a dangerous level, but low enough to stop her from sweating more. She looked up and glared at the ice wall in front of her, and principally at his creator, Shoto Todoroki. It has been more than 30 minutes that they have been fighting for the UA Sport festival. She never expected she would be against Endeavors' son, but now she is and she will clearly lose if he didn't melt that ice wall. How is she supposed to sweat a single drop of poison at that temperature? Even if he was winning, Shoto didn't show a single emotion, as if he did that a millions of times and it became too boring. She needed him to use that fire of his, but how? From what she had heard from her classmates, Todoroki never intended to use his other quirk because of his dad or something like that. She heard someone call her name and she looked over her shoulder. Her friends were encouraging her, but Kaminari and Mina were the loudest.
"Go on, Dokuzono, you've got this" Mina yelled.
"Venge me, Sumire" Sero yelled too–referring to his previous combat with Todoroki, which lasted exactly 1 minute because Todoroki froze him solid– causing Kaminari to burst into laughter.
She smiled slightly, standing straight.
"Is this it, Todoroki? You're going to freeze me out because you're too afraid of your own heat? I came here to fight a Hero, not an ice sculpture."
Todoroki groaned, clearly irritated, a small flame flickering on his shoulder. Before Sumire could add more, he unleashed a burst of flame, an intense heat radiating throughout the arena. As soon as the heat reached her, Sumire began sweating, at first little, then profusely. It transitioned from sweat to paralytic toxin, the heat turning it in vapor, filling the atmosphere.
In the bleachers, Midoriya was mumbling and taking rapid notes in his notebook.
"So she needs a decent amount of heat to start secreting her poisons and what I see, cold is one of weakness...I wonder if there is more about her quirk, can she use it underwater, or does water block her pores. Not to mention that some poisons don't react well with water, like acide...Does she hers a wild variety of poisons? It may depend on what she eats and drinks, or maybe on the UV light...Can she lose control of what quantity? Her quirk is a little bit like Kacchan's and it func–"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP, DEKU!" an angry voice yelled with a succession of small explosions. Bakugo was standing up, hand raised, glaring at Deku. "My quirk is nothing like that extra's!!!"
Deku stopped his mumbles, but was still scribbling in his notebook; which still annoyed Bakugo but Kirishima held him right in time before he exploded something.
"Let go of me, Shitty hair" he fumed as he tried to struggle to get to Deku
"Calm down Bakubro!" Kirishima said, placing Bakugo back on his seat. "Midoriya isn't wrong about your quirk being similar to hers. Just the sweating part, not the whole think!"
"Don't tell me what to do," Bakugo growled angrily, but sat down obediently, crossing his arms over his chest.
In the commentary box, Aizawa was trying to stop Present Mic from shouting in the mic with his quirk. As Sumire's toxins gazed filled the air, Todoroki realized that releasing his flames was a bad idea as he started to feel his limbs go numb.
"That was a perfect strategy from Dokuzono," Present Mic announced from the commentary box "Aren't you proud of your students Aizawa?" he asked, turning to Aizawa.
"It is undeniably a good strategy, but when you think of it, it's not perfect," Aizawa explained, pointing at the field Sumire was fighting to stay conscious, small fluorescent pink spots appearing on her neck, arms and fingertips.
"She isn't immune to her poisons ?" Mic asked, leaning away from the mic, his eyes filled with concern.
"No, she isn't." Aizawa answered shortly, adjusting the position of his casted arm.
On the battlefield, Todoroki was trying to think straight. He knew he won't win if he can't come up with something before the poison knocks him down completely. He looked in Sumire's direction and even with his blur vision, he could tell she was at least 2 feet away from the white line. She was gasping for air though it was filled with toxins. Todoroki dropped on one knew, turning weak everyone a few second, he had less than five minutes before passing out. He raised his hand, preparing a final blast of ice, and as he looked at her, he saw she was hurting herself to keep fighting. He felt a wave of respect–and a desperate need to end their combat before she seriously hurt herself. He let out a massive spike of ice, aiming at her. Sumire saw it coming right to her, aiming at her stomach, but she was too weak to dodge. She got hit hard, projecting her out of the white boundary line as she felt unconscious on the ground.
Shoto stood for a heartbeat, his turquoise eye locked on her. He tried to take a step toward her—maybe to help, maybe to say something—but the paralysis finally took his legs. His eyes rolled back, and he collapsedes face-first onto the floor.
