Type: Manipulation
Core Concept
The ability allows the user to steal knowledge from a target remotely, but only by first "offering" information into the target's mind. This mental exchange replaces physical contact, and the condition of giving before taking is absolute.
Activation: "The Trade"
To activate the ability:
The user focuses on a target within rangeThe user sends information directly into the target's mindThe target must register or process that information, even briefly
Once this condition is fulfilled, the exchange is established.
Ability 1: "Knowledge Take"
After a successful trade, the user may extract:
MemoriesLearned informationSkills (as understanding, not perfect execution)
The clarity and usefulness of what is taken depends on the quality of what was given.
Ability 2: "Value of Exchange"
The exchange is not equal—but it is influenced by intent and value:
Trivial information → fragmented, unclear knowledgeUseful information → stable and detailed knowledgeValuable or personal information → high-quality insight, including deeper understanding of skillsAbility 3: "One Trade, One Take"Each completed exchange allows the user to take one piece of knowledgeMultiple pieces require multiple tradesTechnique: "Information Overload"
The user floods the target's mind with large amounts of useless, repetitive, or contradictory information.
Effects:
Disrupts focusInterferes with aura controlCauses hesitation and delayed reactionsWeakens mental resistance
While the target is overwhelmed, the user can slip in a proper "trade" and extract knowledge more easily.
Advanced Technique: "Forced Lesson"
The user sends a dense, structured stream of information instead of random noise:
Harder for the target to ignore or rejectAllows extraction of deeper or more complex knowledge
Drawbacks:
High aura consumptionSlower to executeLeaves the user vulnerable during useLimitations / ConditionsMust Give to TakeNo information given = no knowledge gainedTarget Must Process ItIf the target completely blocks or ignores the input, the ability failsMental Resistance MattersStrong-willed or skilled Nen users can reduce or resist the effectsCognitive StrainTaking too much knowledge causes confusion, memory overlap, and mental fatigueNo Instant MasterySkills gained are understanding-based and require practice to use effectivelyOptional Vow & Limitation: "Equivalent Value"
The user must give information of equal or greater personal value than what they want to take.
Effect:
Dramatically increases the clarity and depth of stolen knowledgeCan allow near-complete understanding of complex skills
Risk:
The user may be forced to reveal secrets, weaknesses, or important memoriesOptional Vow & Limitation: "No Repeats"
The user can never give the same piece of information twice.
Effect:
Each successful trade becomes more potentIncreases success rate against strong-willed targets
Risk:
The user will eventually run out of "safe" information to giveOptional Vow & Limitation: "Open Mind"
The user must lower their own mental defenses during the exchange.
Effect:
Makes it much harder for the target to resistAllows faster activation and deeper extraction
Risk:
The target can unintentionally (or intentionally) influence or read the user backOptional Vow & Limitation: "Declaration of Trade"
The user must clearly state something like:
"Let's make a trade."
Effect:
If the target acknowledges it (even subconsciously), the ability's power spikesCan bypass some mental resistance
Risk:
Reveals the ability and gives the opponent a chance to prepareOptional Vow & Limitation: "Burden of Knowledge"
The user cannot discard stolen knowledge.
Effect:
Increases storage capacity and retention qualityMakes stolen knowledge more stable and usable
Risk:
Mental overload builds over timePersonality and identity may become unstableOptional Vow & Limitation: "Single Target Focus"
The user can only have one active target at a time.
Effect:
Much stronger influence and faster extraction on that targetMakes "Information Overload" significantly more effective
Risk:
Completely loses multi-target capabilityBest Combo (if you want it high-tier)
If you stack:
