I knew this wasn't real. It just couldn't be real.

Yet here I was.

Since mine and Will's trip to Tartarus, my nightmares have been getting worse, and by that I mean darker, creepier and much more real.

I was back in the pit, alone. Will was nowhere to be seen, and that terrified me to the bones. I was fighting spirits, monsters and Hades knows what more, all while bleeding, starving, running for my life and definitely dying.

I kept running until I found someone - a someone that I did NOT longed to see - Ahkilis, the goddess of suffering and disappointments. I heard again the same damn words that I've been hearing ever since she said it.

"Son of Hades, you're perfect!" she said, white crying blood "So much pain and sorrow! What more could I do to you?"

After she said that, I fell - like if the floor had literally disappeared. Then I hit the floor in the most uncomfortable way possible. When I got up, I saw her - the embodiment of the Night. In front of her was Will - on the ground, all bloodied, his eyes with no light, no breathing or heartbeat. In other words, dead.

I knew very well that this hadn't been the case in reality, but I couldn't stop myself from being in high distress. I started crying - possibly having a panic attack - while Nyx laughed in delight.

"Oh, poor son of Hades" said the goddess "Crying for a fallen love. So sentimental" She continued, getting closer to me "Maybe I should let you live. All that pain and sorrow amuses me quite a lot" She laughed as I fell to my knees. I couldn't breathe properly and all I could think was 'This is my fault'.

I got up, unleashing my sword. Fighting her was no use, but I had to focus on something else, and making Nyx feel a bit of my pain was enough for now.

But before I could do anything, I fell to my knees again, dropping my sword to hold my ears as a loud, horrible chorus of the loudest mismatched voices was heard. It was horrible - in a "fields of punishment" level - and most of them said different things, but it all meant the same.
"YOUR FAULT!!" "YOU'RE THE ONE TO BLAME!!" "YOU KILLED HIM!!" "LOOK WHAT YOU DID"
I wanted to scream, but I couldn't, I had no voice for such.

Then, in the middle of the scream, I heard a familiar voice, calling my name and getting closer.

"Nico, hey...It's ok, I'm here"

Will's voice.

I slowly came back to reality.I was in my cabin, sat in my bunk, Will by my side, holding my shoulders gently while I shaked. I couldn't focus on anything in particular, and my breathing was superficial. I was having a panic attack. Will held me with care, and I held myself to that. Will was alive, that's what mattered for now.

After some minutes, some long ass minutes, I could breath better, the voices had stopped, and my vision wasn't that much fuzzy, allowing myself to focus on the bright blue eyes of the only person that could ground me against every storm - William Andrew Solace.

He sighed in relief "Thank the gods, you're ok" he smiled a bit at me, and I admit that seeing that smile was comforting. He ran a hand though my hair "That was a bad one"

"Yeah..." I reply, still slightly shaking

Will stayed quiet next to me, his arm around my shoulder like a shield, as if by touch alone he could stop any threat of nightmare to get near us. Then he spoke up, his voice quiet and caring: "Was it about Tartarus again?"
I almost laughed: "When it isn't?"

Will didn't answer, he just stayed there, his presence comforting and familiar.

I looked at the clock next to my bunk - 3:49 am. I mentally curse. 3 hours and something of sleep, knowing that I won't be able to get a shut eye for this night again. I put my head on Will's shoulder "what should we do now?"

"Want to talk about it?" He asked back

"No"

"You're hungry?"
"yeah, actually"

"What do you say of sneaking out to grab snacks?"

I smiled a bit "Why not"
We got up and sneaked out to the camp's kitchen and back to my cabin, just enjoying each other's presence.
