2006
It had been a great summer in Bell Fields
The calendar had marked 2006 of June.
The sun was hot and the day was great.
It was two days before school and I had been up and hanging out with my friend Stacy Mc William.
The mall was bustling with teenagers getting ready for the upcoming first day of school.
Some in Staples and some In G.A.P.
Others eating out in the food court and stuffing themselves with corndogs and whatever their body craves as they enjoy their last days of summer.
We had been walking for almost 5 minutes now and Stacy had brought up the same question for 5th time.
"Alright so do you think i should buy one of those new books from Fully Booked?" She asked now slowly with anticipation as she tried to convince me about her spending habits and reading habits
Ice cream cones occupied our hands as we walked around the mall.
Our wrist being used as racks for paper shopping bags that was filled with new clothes, pens, papers, and essential body perfume.
"Stacy. Your room is full of romance novels and now your telling me you want to buy a new set of more romance novel?" I asked to see if she was really serious with her plan to buy another collection of books.
She had stopped her tracks and so did I as she looked at me like I was joking then her eyes darted behind me and i swear her face that was turning into a frown had quickly turned into a giddy smile like a kid that was shown the toy store for the first time.
We had finally stopped at her favorite place.
Fully Booked.
"Look a gal just needs an opinion from her bestest friend. Now should i get it?" She asked knowing fully well anything i say won't affect her movement from purchasing these books she wants so bad.
"A girl just loves her books. What can you do about it?" She says as she gives me that guilty smile while walking forward to enter the book shop,
"Nothing really." I whispered to myself as Stacy already had went inside the book store.
She answered her own question.
I just rolled my eyes and just followed her inside.
Browsing over the romance section as my eyes glanced over books and binds.
Stacy was still looking and searching for a good romance novel she could fill her days with imagining and enjoying.
A few minutes had passed by and she was still looking over books. Opening and closing some books in hand or staring at the back reading descriptions about it to see if it peaked her interest even in the slightest.
"How about this?" I asked as i had a book in hand.
"Fidel .... And Friends Adventure." I said pulling out the book from the bookshelf that had a blue page and a picture of dudes in jersey's in a cartoon animation playing soccer on the fields.
"About brotherhood and friends." I read out sarcastically and slowly knowing that this wasn't her forte as I looked at the back of the book and its description.
Stacy had looked at me seriously like I was joking as she rolled her eyes making me chuckle a little bit to see her annoyed at me.
"Unless it's got some good old kissing and banging parts on it, I'm not interested." Stacy says as she takes a turn on the other side of the bookshelf.
