The evening sky above the train station was turning orange and grey. The loudspeaker kept repeating the same announcements, trains arriving and leaving, people rushing with bags and suitcases.
But for Aarav, the world felt strangely quiet.
He sat on a cold metal bench on Platform 4, holding a small notebook in his hands. The pages were filled with memories — tiny drawings, old jokes, and letters he had never given to the person they were meant for.
His eyes kept moving toward the station entrance.
He was waiting.
Waiting for Rohan.
The boy who had unknowingly become the most important person in his life.
The Beginning
Aarav and Rohan met three years ago on the same platform.
It had been raining heavily that day. Aarav had been standing under the small shelter, annoyed because his train was late. Suddenly someone ran inside, completely soaked.
That someone was Rohan.
“Great,” Rohan sighed dramatically, shaking water from his hair. “My train is late and now I look like I fell into a river.”
Aarav laughed without meaning to.
Rohan noticed.
“Hey, you’re laughing at my suffering.”
“You do look like a river monster,” Aarav replied.
Rohan stared at him for a moment… then burst out laughing too.
That was how it started.
After that day, they began meeting almost every evening at the station after college. Sometimes they waited for trains that came late. Sometimes they just sat on the bench and talked about life.
Rohan talked a lot.
Aarav mostly listened.
But somehow, every conversation felt special.
They shared food, music, secrets, dreams. Slowly, without either of them noticing, the station became their place.
