Prologue: The Origins Of The Universe's Most Destructive Rivalry

Narrator's POV: 

 It all began centuries ago when Rosalina, the guardian of the stars, was tasked with protecting the very core of creation, which resembled an immense blue cube etched by the brightest stars in the universe. This core is said to be the very origin of the universe, and it is thanks to it that many planets came into being, including one named Earth, where many peoples lived: Koopas, Toads, Sarasians, and many others. After years of war, they were able to make peace. Rosalina used the souls of the dying living beings to power the core with energy that could extend for light-years, but only the most virtuous were granted this right.

And the vilest and most malevolent were simply annihilated by the star princess, who judged them unworthy of feeding the core, and so this cycle continued for millennia without a hitch.

On the other hand, we have Mathews Oward, who was a passionate gamer and CEO of his own company called M Corp, and he was delighted that his games sold, especially in the 80s when the market was generally close to disappearing.

One day in August 1988, a man knocked on the door of M Corp. Mathews went to open it, revealing a well-dressed, middle-aged man who seemed interested in his company.

Mathews: Hello sir, how can I help you? 

???: Hello Mr. Oward, I've heard about your video game company, which is really taking off right now, so I'm very interested in partnering with you. I'm Jeremy Toperman, pleased to meet you.

Mathews: Pleased to meet you Mr. Toperman, please come in and let's talk.

And so a great friendship was born, and with Jeremie as a partner, the company brought in even more money for several very successful years. 

One evening in December 1999, Jeremie asked Mathews for something, and it seemed urgent given Jeremie's agitated mood.

Jeremie: Mathews, I need to talk to you, it's urgent.

Mathews: Okay. 

Mathews follows Jeremie to the electronics storage room in the building.

Mathews: And what do you want to tell me, Jeremie?

And at that moment, Jeremie's appearance completely changed, revealing his true identity: a demon named Daddy Deareast, brandishing a cartridge.

Daddy Deareast: Disappear, coward! And infinite wealth and eternal glory are mine!

As the demon spoke these words, a massive vortex appeared at the cartridge, sucking Mathews in as he struggled to escape with all his might.

Mathews: Traitor, you filthy bastard! You'll pay for this, monster!

He spoke these words as the vortex swallowed him whole, trapping him inside the cartridge.

Mathews struggled to understand why his former partner and friend had done this to him. His appearance began to change, increasingly resembling Mario, but more cruel, sadistic, manipulative, and destructive. He had become Horror Mario, and his goal was to annihilate his former partner, who had become a traitor and his worst enemy.

For years, the man known as M had remained in the shadows, scrutinizing the Traitor's every move, only to discover that he had a daughter named Cassandra to humans, while her parents called her Girlfriend.
