Prologue

Us

"Rael! Gumising kana malalate na tayo!

Tulog mantika talaga tung lalaki nato kay hirap gisingin, malalate nanaman kami!! so far college na kaming dalawa.
Rael is a second year college and I'm a first year college. First semester palang nakakapagod na, kakainis!!

"What? Ang aga-aga ang ingay muna den-den, Five minutes more." Ayy nang-gagago ah sarap sapakin eh!!

"Anong five minutes?! Bumangon kana! Malalate na tayo."
I threw the soft pillows toward his face, he grunted.

"Ang ingay mo."  Pambihirang lalaking ito ang  sarap talagang sapakin kahit kaylan nalang talaga.

"Bilisan mona kasi malalate na kasi tayo, bilis bumangon kana at maligo kana rin." Niyogyog ko ito upang bumangon na kasi ang tigas nang ulo ayaw talaga bumangon, malalate na kami.

"Fine." Busangot itong tumayo at kumuha ng tuwalya at pumasok sa cr.

"Mag-luluto lang ako sa baba para saating ugmagahan rael!!
Sigaw ko at lumabas na. Habang nasa kusina nag hanap muna ako kung ano ang aking lulutuin, kaso bacon at tsaka etlog lang ang nandito, kaya ito nalang ang aking lulutuin.

Habang nag hihintay kay Rael nagtimpa nalang muna ako nang gatas para saming dalawa.

"Good morning den-den." I looked back and saw him wearing he's uniform, a white plain polo uniform and black pants. His hair was gelled backwards, and he had a piercing on his right ear that made him totally handsome. He's half  russian, His eyes were blue like a shallow sea, with features like a goddess, ang gwapo talaga kaso sarap talagang sapakin!!
 
"Good morning mo mukha mo!! Anong oras na oh late na tayo, an tagal mong maligo" Singhal ko nito kasi kanina pa ako nag hihintay kahit pag ligo ang tagal, isang oras ata tong naligo eh, kainis!!

He just laughed.  "Chill, galit agad wala man lang good morning rael. Kidding aside, what did you cook?" He asked curiously while looking at me intensely, parang gago lang eh

"I just cooked some eggs and bacon yan nalang niluto ko kasi yan lang din yung natira" sabi ko habang naglalapag ng mga plato naming dalawa.

"Hmmm. Smells good,  let's eat."  While we were eating I suddenly saw him looking at me, na para bang may kasalanan ako!!

"Ano? Bakit ganyan ka makatitig sakin." I said while looking back at him, Akala mo ha uurongan kita, ang awkward kaya!!.

"I saw the post of our student council and I read that they have a music club, they also include that their band needs a guitarist and vocalist, I want to try it."

A music club? Guitarist? Band? Sasali siya?!! Pwede rin si Rael mag audition he knows how to play guitar also maganda naman yung boses niya, pwede rin siya maging vocalist If ever makuha siya. Once you hear his voice you will fall in love. Ang lamig kasi ng boses!!

"You must try it. Maganda naman yung boses mo tas marunong karin mag guitar maybe you should try both? Bagay sayo yung role Rael"

Bagay naman talaga sakanya for me but I think everyone would agree walang mag disagree baka masapak ko lang! Kidding aside.

"I'll try my best, come with me so that I will have my support system while I'm auditioning."

Ang sarap pakinggan support system daw!! Sasamahan ko naman talaga siya I would cheer for him, loud and proud.

"Sure!! Tara na nga baka malate pa tayong dalawa, may quiz pa kami." Puna ko habang patungo sa kotse niya, his car is a Rolls-Royce.

Rael is a freaking billionaire, ang yaman nang family niya, They have a 20 business branch, 20 luxury cars, 10 luxury sports cars, 5 luxury yachts and  34 different branches. Also Rael owns a big branch of a bar, He also has a business, I guess 30 business branches, He owns the RD Merchandise Corp, Ang yaman diba?!!

At the age of 19 Rael became a CEO, imagine being a CEO at a young age!! Diko ata kaya yan.

Habang nasa byahe kaming dalawa, Tahimik kung pinagmamasdan ang mga matatayog na building hudyat na malapit na kami sa school.

"We're here." He said while he gathered all of his things.

In deep thoughts, I suddenly think the possibilities of being with him, We've been best friends since we were still kids — since scraped knees and plastic toys, since pinky promises made under skies too big for children who didn’t understand how hard “forever” really was.

But everything changed, I've changed I slowly like him. It wasn’t sudden. It wasn’t loud. It was quiet — in stolen glances, lingering touches, and all of that I've fallen, But Rael? Rael didn’t notice. For him, Denver was just Denver. I'm just his constant, his safe place, his best friend.

To think I'm just he's best friend my heart ache.

"Hey denver, where here, are you okay?"  Ay shit kanina papala ako nakakatulala.

"Ayos lang ako" Tumawa ako nang payak upang maitago anh sakit na nadarama, umagang-umaga nag dradrama!! Kainis!

"Are you sure?"

Concerned yarn? Kidding ayos lang naman ako midyo nasaktan lang nang kaunti piro ayos lang talaga si me!!

"Ou naman ako pa!!" Ayan deny pa more, Jusko ang oa ko talaga!!

He just nod. And went outside to open the car window for me, yan ang gusto ko gentleman masyado, mas lalo akong nainlove, kidding aside!!kayu ha hindi kayu mabiro.

Napangiti nalang ako sa mga weird kung iniisip, pambihira talaga nakakakilabot siguro kapag meron mang maka rinig.

"Ang gentleman talaga." I said while going out the car.

He just laughed. Yabang ha tumawa pa talaga kakainis!

"Let's go?" He said while he's done taking my things. Sabi sainyo ang gentleman piro saakin nga lang.

Tignan mo kahit late na siya ihahatid niya pa ako sa room ko ang gentleman masyado, well that's he's  daily routine, he's been doing it for how many years, kaya hinayaan ko nalang.

"Late kana sabi sayung kaya ko naman yan dalhin lahat ang gentleman mo masyado rael." Biro ko nito ang tigas kasi nang ulo

"It's my daily routine, no need to worry about me, here's your things, I have to go."  He said when he's done arranging my things, before he goes, he pat my head that's the sign that he must go.

I watched his back as he walked away.
Rael is almost six feet tall, broad shoulders, and a varsity captain in this campus. The kind of guy everyone notices the moment he walks into a room.

The kind of guy people easily fall for.

I sighed softly.

Funny how someone like him always finds time to walk me to my room, carry my things, and pat my head like it’s the most normal thing in the world.

For him, it’s just his daily routine.
For me…
It’s everything.

I leaned against the door frame and watched until he disappeared at the end of the hallway.

Maybe to Rael, this is just what best friends do. But for me, every small thing he does—every laugh, every teasing word, every gentle gesture—means more than it should.
And maybe that’s the problem.

Because somewhere along the way, the line between friendship and something more became blurry.

Something quiet.
Something unspoken.
Something that exists only between us.
