My BestFriend My Teammate and Broken Promises

Chapter 2

                      Alex's PoV

Alex landed in New York 5 hours later. She went through security and got her bags, then looked around for the person who was supposed to pick her up.
"Alex Morgan?"
Alex turned around. She saw a girl in sweats, a white v-neck, and a black beanie. She was smiling at her." That's me." Alex said nervously with a slight smile.
"Awesome! Glad to have you here." Said the girl smiling,"Let's go." She grabbed one of my bags and started towards the exit. Alex grabbed her other bag and followed the girl outside.
   I followed her to her car which was a pretty cool black mustang.
"Sweet car." I said looking at her mustang. We put my bags into her trunk and get into the car. We were driving in silence for a while when she speaks.
"Oh, by the way my names Tobin Heath, but everyone calls me Tobs or Toberino or whatever. Sorry, I forgot to mention that earlier." Tobin said looking at her.
"Oh that's ok, Toby!" I said smiling, Toby? Why'd you call her that you hardly even know her. I thought to myself. I look over at Tobin. She wasn't smiling anymore.
"Don't call me Toby, 'lex. Only those closest to me call me that." She said seriously.
"Well then don't call me 'lex." I said my mood starting to drop. Tobin seems a little touchy when it comes to her name.
   We sat in silence for a few minutes then Tobin said, "How about you get to call me Toby if I get to call you 'lex?" She said.
"Deal." I said my mood returning to its usual happy state. Tobin just smiled.
"So where are we going?"
"To the teams hotel/apartments. You get your own apartment." Tobin says.
"That's cool!" I say getting excited to see it.
   We pull into a huge parking lot in front of a large building. Tobin parks the car in front of the building and turns off the car. I get out and go to the back of the car, waiting for her to pop the trunk.
   I hear the trunk pop open and I lift it to grab my bags. Tobin gets out of the front and comes to the back to help me.
"So you wanna be on the floor with the most teammates or what?" Tobin asks me.
"Umm, what floor are you on?" I ask. To be honest I didn't want to be by myself on a floor, and I wanted to meat all my teammates.
"I'm on the 5th floor. There are about ten other teammates on that floor. There's even a apartment next to mine that's open If you wanna be near someone you know." She says.
"I'll be on that floor then." Tobin smiled.
"So after we unpack your stuff you wanna go meet the others? Or do you wanna rest before that? We have the next week off before practices start again." I thought about it for a while.
"I wanna meet them as soon as possible." I say.
"Awesome. You'll love them! But first lets go get you unpacked." And with that she went into the hotel.

When Alex walked into the hotel she was appalled by how beautiful it was. The lobby had couches, three big wide-screen TVs, a little kitchen, a little mini bar with snacks and drinks, there was also a fountain in the middle of the room!
"Done sight seeing?" Tobin asked.
Alex snapped back to attention.
"Ya, let's go!" They went to the elevator which was just as nice as the lobby. Tobin pushes the 5th floor button and up they went.
The elevator dinged and the doors opened. The hallway was empty. Tobin led her to her room few doors down to the left. Tobin opened her door and In they went.

   A little while later they were finished unpacking. They were just hanging out in the living room when Tobin speaks,"So you wanna go meet the others?"
"Umm, ya sure."
"Ok." She gets up turns off the TV and starts to leave. I follow her. We start with this floor. We go two doors down and Tobin knocks on the door. I hear someone turn off their TV and come to the door. When she opens the door she smiles and gives Tobin a hug.
"Hey, Lauren." Says Tobin, smiling and pulling away from their hug
"Hey, Tobs!" The girl smiles, then she looks at me.
"Lauren, this is Alex Morgan she's the new player. Alex, this is Lauren." Lauren smiles at her and shakes her hand,"Nice to meet you, Alex! Glad to have you on the team!"
"Thanks! It's nice to meet you too! I'm glad to be here!" Alex says to Lauren.
"Well, we have to go and meet the rest of the gang," Tobin says,"Bye, Lauren."
"Bye." She says. She gives a small wave and goes back into her room. I meet the rest of the team and they're just as nice as Lauren was.
   Before Alex went to bed that night she was thinking about how amazingly blessed she was to be on this team and how she might be able to call New York home as well as the many other hotels they would stay in. She was glad she met Tobin. She knew Tobin and her were gonna be great friends. No doubt about that.

Authors Note: so I know it isn't very interesting but it will start to get interesting as I go on.
