zak pov:

i slowly rubbed my eyes as the morning sunlight crept into my window. i pulled the blanket over my face not wanting to get up, i didnt go to sleep until late last night. i was working on projects for my job that needs to be done before sunday afternoon.

i finally sat up from my bed and ran my hands down my face, i groaned and thrown my feet off the bed and stood up walking to the kitchen. i pulled open the fridge and raided it for a water bottle, my mouth was a little dry so the water bottle disappeared quick.

i then walked over to my office area sitting down starting on my work again. i was 3 papers in when i heard my phone ring, i looked down and it was my friends from high school. i answered and put it to my ear, "hey man! we are going out for a reunion tonight. you down?"

"where at and what time" i leaned back in my chair

"7:30pm, at the bar down on main street, its the one right beside the movie theater."

i sighed, "I'm probably gonna stay at home—"

"zak! please, we haven't seen each other in 5 years! just...think about it ok? and if your girlfriend wants to come she can to"

"alright drew, i will think about it"

"thanks zak, just let me know later tonight if you wanna show up"

i hung up the phone and put my phone back on my desk, i wanted to go but at the same time i didn't. i knew people who hated me would be there so i was doubting on going.

but 2 hours passed and i decided to go see my girlfriend for a bit and ask her if she wanted to go, so i got up from my chair, took a shower, put clothes on, and started my drive. when i arrived i seen 2 cars in her driveway, hers and most likely her moms or sisters.

i used the spare key, also bought flowers for her and opened the door. when i opened the door i froze, the flowers and keys dropping out of my hands.

there she was, sitting on the couch with my cousin. no, not no just sitting hanging out. she was on his lap with his hands halfway down her shorts.

sarah, my girlfriend. jumped up, "zak...its not what—"

"save it" i kicked the flowers towards the couch and my cousin got up. "zak? what are you doing here..?"

"here to see my girlfriend.." i replied still holding eye contact with her as she couldnt do the same.

"wait..so sarah.." matthew, my cousin spoke. "what the fuck sarah!? your dating my fucking cousin?!"

"you didnt know?" i spoke and finally looked at him, sarah's body frozen like she seen a ghost.

"no! i met her at a bar and she said she was single." matthew moved away from sarah and grabbed his stuff heading for the door.

"matt—" sarah spoke before matthew slammed the door walking out of her house. "how long"

"zak please...its not important.."

"sarah, dont start that. how long have you been seeing him"

"i didnt know he was your cousin."

"so it would have been better to cheat with someone whos not my cousin?"

"stop twisting my words"

"your twisting your own. for once i thought i finally found someone but no. you're just like everyone else"

"you dont mean that, zak"

"yes i do. your shit will be outside of my house by tomorrow morning." sarahs lips opened to talk but nothing came out but a choked sob.
