A/N: Welcome to this very different entry into the NULL/ABSOLUTE multiverse! I was craving something fresh and I remembered that people were quite fond of my reimagining of the first Gate in my Shadow Monarch Hero: Viridian fic and appreciated the horror aspects. So I decided to try my hand at something more terrifying! As a quick note, this fic does feature some of the OCs from Class 1-C: Enigma (another fic of mine) just to fill a few slots here and there! I also forgot what the Midoriyas' apartment looked like, and upon looking it up on the wiki I realized how off I was. I imagined it more like a standard American apartment block or even hotel in my head when writing. Very sorry about that, but there's too much written already, and it's not important enough to re-write everything, so it is what it is.

Izuku Midoriya woke with a start. It was an oddity for him. He was usually such a sound sleeper that his alarm could barely get him out of bed in the morning.
He grumbled in exhaustion, his head throbbing. He attempted to adjust his position and go back to sleep, but he ended up staring at the ceiling, unable to go back to the peaceful dreams he was having.
"Hmm?" When izuku turned his ear towards his bedroom door, he heard faint voices. It sounded like the TV was on.
"Is mom up too? Maybe that's why I woke up." Izuku threw off the sheets of his bed, knowing he wasn't going to go back to sleep anytime soon. It didn't matter that much. Today was his day off work. The task force didn't need him for anything other than planning, and he'd gotten all his work done ahead of time, so he doubted there would be any problems if he needed to nap through the rest of the morning.
Izuku crept into the living room, seeing a glass of water on the coffee table. "Mom?" He whispered, but got no response from either the living room or kitchen. The couch was suspiciously empty.
"She must've gone back to sleep and left the TV on by accident."
Izuku picked up the remote and was about to turn off the television, but then he saw the headline.
'Dangerous Quirk Mutations: Singularity Made Real?'
Izuku cocked his head at the readout. As a member of the Quirk Threat Response Team - QTRT, or Quarter as it was referred to internally for ease of use - he had more information than most. The Singularity, if it was to happen at all, likely wouldn't occur for another 100 years or more.
"Shocking images out of Australia this morning," The Japanese news woman said, causing Izuku to note the time as 4:00 in the morning. "An unknown number of citizens have undergone a rapid and grotesque mutation that seemingly stems from their Quirks. Viewers be advised, these images may be disturbing."
Izuku scowled. This wasn't the Quirk Singularity, it was just the news throwing a sensationalist title on something they didn't understand. But that wasn't to say Izuku avoided concern when he saw the images for himself.
Izuku expected a high-res video, maybe some helicopter shots, but there were no videos, only individual images.
They were all incredibly grainy, like they had been taken with a late 1990s video camera.
What one could make out was haunting.
One was an image of a young body, his entire body glowing blue with energy, his skin peeling away from his face. The grain of the photo hid his eyes from the camera, turning them into dark voids.
The silhouette of a mother carrying a baby in an alleyway, except the next shot was the reality. The baby was attached by its umbilical cord to the mother's heart, and the mother seemed to be losing her shape, like she was melting as her baby ate her from the inside out. Despite this, the mother's shadowy lips were turned up into a gruesome smile, like she was the proudest mom in the world.
