Hazel's Parents were off hunting when it happened, when the flames started, when the day to day drone of noise in this Wood Elven and AnimalFolk Village died, when the humans came. Hazel was but 7, waiting in her parents hut on the opposite side of town from where the humans entered, She was practicing magic when she heard the sounds of screams. Now, Hazel very much believed in following the rules and helping others, if someone was breaking the rules she would make sure they were stopped, so Hazel grabbed her dads old sword from when he was a kid and went to investigate what the screams were. Hazel froze in fear, the first thing she saw when she stepped in to the village center was one of her friends mothers dead on the ground, a AnimalFolk Fox, an axe was lodged in her head, standing over top of her was a tall human, probably about 6,6, he was strong, covered in blood, and he was staring right at Hazel, She could have sworn his eyes were glowing red. Hazel, with shaking arms, swung the sword at him, the sword grazed the man's leg. The man grabbed the axe from the poor AnimalFolk Foxes head and swung it at hazel... The axe hit hazel right in her left arm, almost taking it clean off, he was about to swing again, this time aiming for Hazel's head, when i voice rung out, a human with a thick Scottish accent, it said "OYE, SHE AINT WORTH IT, SHE'S BUT A LASS, LEAVE'ER FOR THE BEASTS". The man stopped and kicked Hazel aside, as he passed he muttered "lucky". Hazel ran.... Sobbing... sword in hand, leaving the orange glow of what was once her village behind. As she ran she tripped quite a bit, on roots, holes, and other obstacles, but every time she fell she got up and kept running. 2 days passed, Hazel found some long leaves and made a makeshift bandage and splint for her wounded arm. Hazel had no idea where she was, and she was hungry. She took what little knowledge she knew and crafted a fishing rod. 2 more months passed, Hazel was skinny and frail, she had been traveling, hoping to find something, and lucky she did, she found a sign that reads "Human Land Starts 100 miles from here".
