Limerence

It was your turn to do a night shift, the full moon was out, lighting up the night sky. Titans seemed to be active when it was out, so they made sure to have people on watch duty.

You looked out at the view for four hours. They had a solider posted at every 5 miles across the wall. In that time you looked out for any threats, whilst organising ammunition for cannons and other titan defence mechanisms.

You couldn't help but get lost in boredom and started to daydream. You admired your superiors. There was one in particular; captain Levi.

"He looks like an angel..." you blushed and buried your face in your hands. "God why am I thinking about him again, it's like I'm obsessed". Your mind flashed back to a time you were saved by him. On a mission outside the walls, he saved you from being eaten.

Suddenly all these memories came rushing back at once; times you had spoken or been alone. There was tension between you two. You tried to impress him with your odm skills, but he always dominated the game. When he saved you, you had just killed two titans in a row, but was caught by a third.

The way he carried you and saved your life, changed something in you. It had been a month since that day and the thoughts of him wouldn't go away. It was like a craving, like an insatiable hunger for him.

"I think my five hours are almost up..." you lay down on top of the wall preparing mentally for the jump down.

"Heh...I wish I had Levi to carry me away again, it's never fun jumping down" you say with your hand resting over your eyes.

Suddenly, you hear the zip of odm gear behind you.

It's captain Levi.

"Come on shifts over. I need you to do something else. Erwin's orders, we have a mission the day after tomorrow. The stables need tending to"

You jump up, blushing and surprised. "Oh! Uh- r-right...L-Levi...I mean captain!" You find it hard to make eye contact and he sees this. Levi looks you up and down and slowly smirks "tsk what's with that reaction?" He teases. "What are you waiting for, need me to carry you again?"

Your heart skips a beat, "why would he say that? It's like he knows what I'm thinking" You want to entertain it.

"Maybe I do" you say holding your gaze.

His lips slowly part and he approaches you and whispers "be careful cadet or you're gonna find out what happens if you talk back to me" your gaze doesn't break and there's a brief pause.

The evening breeze flows through his dark locks making him even more beautiful. You can't help yourself.

"I think my odm gear is broken, please help me down" without another second to waste, he grabs you by the waist, pulling you close and whispers in your ear "hold on".
