Tonight, I am
present.
I am aware of the
sadness
that bubbles under the surface, but I
do not let it control me.
I sit outside,
content, calm
The cicadas and crickets sing in a
constant rhythm
The soft breeze flows from the wind through my hair
The river ripples and its song travels far
The laughter of others fill my ears and I smile
And to think of I had let this sadness control me, I'd be spiraling right now, deeper and deeper sinking into my bed disassociating and scrolling
I almost laugh, the key to happiness and regulation can't be as easy as this
Going outside
Being connected to the thing that connects us all
Nature
I am sometimes sad, but tonight I'm very happy to be
Present
