Cloud'paw sat in the medicine den, waiting for Sun'strike, her mentor. She was a medicince-apprentice. Sun'strike was collecting some catmint for greencough in leaf-bare. "I'm back, Cloud'paw."
"Can we go out NOW?"
Sun'strike chuckled. "Yes, we can go out now."
Cloud'paw bounced in excitement. She was only 6 moons old.
Sun'strike glanced at her with amusement. And they went out to gather herbs. Cloud'paw saw a greenish leaf, smelling a little nice.
Sun'strike trodded over, and glanced at Cloud'paw expectingly. "Can you tell me what's that?"
"Hm... Dockleaf..?"
Sun'strike sighed in amusement. "That's Catmint. Best for greencough."
Cloud'paw lowered her head in disappointment.
Sun'strike patted Cloud'paw's head with his tail. "It's okay. You've only been apprenticed for only a little while."
Cloud'paw smelled something weird.... Like ShadowClan's smell but grosser... "What's that smell?" Cloud'paw wrinkled her nose. She glanced at Sun'strike, but his gaze was dark. "Rouges. Going to camp. WE HAVE TO GO BACK AND WARN THEM! C'MON, CLOUD'PAW!"
Despite Cloud'paw's injured leg, she was a little slower but caught up. Sun'strike let out a loud, powerful yowl when they arrived. Maple'star jumped up and glanced at Sun'strike, whose fur was bristling. "ROUGES! HEADING TO CAMP!"
"Are you sure?" Before Sun'strike could answer, he was hit by a powerful force. He grunted, and Cloud'paw gasped.
But thankfully, Maple'star pounced on the rouge. Sun'strike quickly got away.
Cloud'paw checked over Sun'strike, and no wounds that are serious. "THUNDERCLAN!" Maple'star yowled. "ATTACK!" More rouges came rushing in. They were outnumbered. But they all fought hard. A loud, choking screech. Cloud'paw turned to see who it was.
"M-MOTHER!" Her mother, Bristle'tuff, was under a big tom. Without thinking, Cloud'paw dashed to her mother, only to be held back by Sun'strike.
"LET ME GO!" Cloud'paw screeched.
Sun'strike shook his head sadly. "I can't let you. It's too dangerous." Cloud'paw's stopped struggling. She choked back a sob.
"GET OUT OF HERE, YOU MANGE-PELTS!" She heard her father, the deputy, Dust'muzzle yowled to the rouges.
Alder'paw, her brother noticed that she was upset. He dashed over. "What's wrong? Are you hurt? Are you-"
Sun'strike shoved him away, and gave him a glare.
Cloud'paw didn't look up. She pointed her tail towards their mother's body. Alder'paw let out a choking gasp.
"MOTHER! W-WAKE UP!" Alder'paw darted towards their mother. "Alder'paw? What's going-" Dust'muzzle broke off.
"B-Bristle'tuff? BRISTLE'TUFF...! I-I can't believe this... THOSE FUX-DUNGED ROUGES! I'M GOING TO KILL THOSE MOUSE-BRAINS!" Dust'muzzle dug his claws into the ground with anger burning in his eyes.
"Father... I'm as angry as you are.. but-..."
"NO! WE HAVE TO ATTACK THEM AGAIN! ALL OF THEM NEED TO DIE!" "Dust'muzzle." They turned around.
Maple'star was there, his gaze cold. "Would that be what mother would have wanted, brother?"
Cloud'paw's eyes widened with shock. "B-BROTHER? MAPLE'STAR IS OUR KIN?"
Cloud'paw sparked Dust'muzzle.
Their father glanced at Cloud'paw's and Alder'paw's eyes. And he nodded. "WOAAHHH! SO COOL!"
"Father... why didn't you tell us?" Cloud'paw asked.
"I... I thought you would love him more than me, because he's the leader."
"NEVER! YOUR OUR FATHER!"
Dust'muzzle gazed at them. "Really..?"
"Yeah, duh."
Maple'star glanced at them. His gaze still cold. He looked down at Bristle'tuff's body. "We'd better take care of her..." They laid their mother in the center of camp.
"She was the best mother ever. I'll miss her." Cloud'paw said sadly, unable to look at her body.
"S-she never- She was-" Dust'muzzle couldn't go on. He sobbed. Alder'paw went for him. "She never gave up hope or on ThunderClan. She was the best warrior and mother."
After they were done grieving, Cloud'paw, Alder'paw, and Dust'muzzle carried her to her grave. Cloud'paw sighed in sadness. "Goodbye, mother. May you have shelter when you sleep, prey when you eat, and stay happy in StarClan." They all said their finally goodbyes, buried her and went back to camp.

The next day was damp. Cold, quiet, and lonely.
Without their mother, it was dark. Everything was useless.
She was everything.
Cloud'paw sighed, doing her duties that she always had to do.
Even Alder'paw looked distressed and sad.
