"If we take this formula and add..." The teacher droned on about the lesson. Nobody paid attention, well, almost nobody. It was Friday, and with the weekend right there most students were on their phones or chatting amongst eachother.

All but one, Twilight Sparkle. The Star of Crystal Prep. She was scribbling away at notes, writing down everything the teacher said, as other students snickered quietly. After all, who'd need notes if you aced all the tests?

The teacher finally handed out worksheets to everyone, except Twilight. Before she could ask why, the final bell rang. As she walked out of the classroom, she accidentally bumped into Dean Cadance. "Twilight Sparkle, Headmaster Sombra wants you in his office."

The purple teenager sighed sadly, nobody liked the Headmaster. He was cruel and manipulative, treating all his students like they were nothing but dirt under his boots. Twilight reached the door leading to the Headmaster's office and knocked. A gruff voice came from inside, speaking in a sneering manner, "Come inside."

Twilight gulped the smallest bit, and entered.

The halls bustled with students, all of them excited for the weekend. Most were going to sleep in and not care about their schoolwork, some would hang out with their friends, some even might just be productive. However, one particular student was dreading the weekend.

Sunset Shimmer walked towards the buses with her friends, who were all talking amongst eachother. Shimmer herself was a few steps behind, as she texted someone from her phone.

She sat on the bus as it went around town, dropping teens off, finally stopping at her place. She got off the bus and when it left, went towards the abandoned building across the street from the bus stop.

Another weekend spent in her crumbling apartment. Alone, struggling to eat. Possibly even overworking herself at her job. Yay...

She opened the door to her place, and looked around. Thanks to the apartment complex being abandoned, she was able to get the largest one in the building. She's been living here since running from Equestria, although she only ran away because she felt unappreciated by Princess Celestia. She walked towards her bedroom, which was the last door in the small hallway, and began getting ready for work.

As she showered into her work uniform, using what little water she had from the water bottle case she bought last week, she recalled the events that led her to this... unpleasant situation. The fight with Celestia, the possibility of a hidden royal, one only Celestia knew. The hatred her "friends" held for her.

And... Sunburst...
