Tea and Threads of Fate

Nicole's pov ○☆○♡。。。

It was like any other normal day at Mondstant.The wind was calm,people wondered in the town and the knights were on their usually patrol.

Since today was so peaceful,Alice,the cheerful mage, called us  to meet up for tea.

And I?I agreed,so I got ready I made some sweets using my magic and I went to meet up with the others.

As I arrived Alice called out in excitement
"Oh my goodness!Nicole!Come come join us!"

I smiled and reached the table

"Hello everyone,I hope you are doing well,I made some sweets for our tea party!"

I said offering one to each,they accepted the gesture smiling

Finally we all sit down and the gossip started.

Alice mentioned her daughter and how happy she was even while being too young her excitement was out of this world.Clearly her child no DNA test needed.

M mentioned her baby dragon,Durin and how she decided to make him with the help of Alice Ofcourse.

"M,You named him after the Durin of Dragonspine?What if they end up having the same fate?"

I said concerned for the little dragon,truth to be told I didn't think he deserved the same fate as the other Durin,it was simply unfair

M turned to look at me happy,that confused me

"No need to worry Nicole,I made him with the best intentions,and to give him his happy ending as well"

She said all calmly then  Barbie    Spoke, taking a very serious look on her face.

Everyone knew when she had that face news about the future were never good.

"He is gonna turn evil.He has the same name as the evil dragon,chances of his fate to be turned are slim and almost impossible,M"

Everyone on the table went quite,then Alice smiled and declared

"Well then,we will use magic when the time comes and turn his fate around!Hahah"

"Hmm,very well Alice"

Finally we all have the little dragon our blessings and gifts for him,then Alice turned to look at me

"Nicole do you remember the other day that I told you about the  training knights of favonius?"

"Oh?Yes I do,but whats that supposed to-"

"Well,guess what!?Hehe,actually don't guess I can't keep my excitement down so I'll just tell you!Few of them passed the exam and got in!their first mission is in Nodkrai!"

"Well that's good."

"Yes!It's time to see their full potential.Hmm I hope they all come back safe"

"Hopefully" í

I replied calmly sipping my tea

Hours passed and more gossip got shared,we finished our tea and the sweets

"Well then I should go!Our tea party has come to an end!Hehe.Goodnight ladies!Off I goo"

"Wait Alice!"

But before I could ask my question she disappeared.

Angry at her I walked it off,I gave my congratulations to M once more and I strolled off.Tho I was curious about the mortals and how they will by pass the enemies in Nod krai or even the trip itself was huge.

Eh,they will manage anyways

I thought and then I continued my walk towards my place

Varkas pov~☆。。。

The way to Nod Krai from Mondstand was a calm one, the exhibition team of the Knights of Favonius didn't have a hard time reaching there but that didn't mean the exhibition itself would be easy.

The air at the northern parts of Nod-Krai was thin, you could barely take a full breath, the wind was strong but the abyss was more threatening than ever.

"We have to proceed, the place isn't going to defend itself." I say, my hands already reaching out to put the last pieces of my armour on.

Raymond tried to stop me, "Sir, the storm is too heavy, we can't just go out and-"

"We have a job to do Raymond," I said turning to face my troops. "We have people to protect."

"As knights it's our duty to..." I pause as my gaze swipes over the faces of my troops. "Uh... Yeah, well... The point is that we need to continue this exhibition no matter what. We can't let the people of Mondstadt are depending on us."

Wyratt, my right hand for this mission finally speaks up. "Are you sure about this, sir?" I nod at his words.

"Yes, I'm more than sure about this, I won't let anything happen to anyone."

The wind was wild, the enemies were circling us left and right, I didn't realise at first but we were slowly cornered, behind us an endless ravine that no one can survive and in front countless of enemies.

"Grand Master! We've been cornered w-what do we do?!" One of the knights shouted.

I had to think about something, I can't risk the lives of any of my soldiers, so I decided to do what was best.

"Everyone! Listen to me!" I shout. "I'll make us a path from the side! Wyratt will lead while I stay behind and push as many of those monsters!"

"B-But Grand Master-"

"This is an order!" I yell already clearing to make a path. "Follow the second in command until we are away from the cliffside!"

"Yes, sir!" The voices of the knights echoed as I push back more enemies, my helmet flying off my head as I get hit by one heavy attack.

By the time the knights get into a better position I was left all alone, drenched by the rain, my point of exit completely closed off by monsters.

I had no where to go, to run, and as I was trying to think of a way to escape I lost my balance my feet slipping off making me fall backwards into that ravine and with my last thoughts being how I failed as a Grand Master.
