Chapter one.

I wake up to the sound of carnival music. Which is odd, since this applies to neither my town nor the province I live in. We don't celebrate carnival in any sort of way. The rhythm of the music I don't recognise either, it doesn't sound like our traditional music...

Have I been kidnapped? Did I just get out of a coma? Who even am I?

I squint my eyes, slowly waking up. I don't remember my name. I sit up in bed, observing the room. It has pastel yellow walls, looking traditional in a Spanish type of way. There's a window in my room, a few steps away from the bed. I swing my feet over the edge, taking 3 rather large steps to the window.

The view is gorgeous; a vintage looking town with pastel colored buildings, healthy trees and people dancing through the streets... The buildings have white details, looking pretty fancy. The sky is gloomy, but it doesn't affect the vibe on the streets below me. People are dancing and laughing, a sight that could comfort the disturbed, overwhelm them with happiness. Though I am not the disturbed-- I am the confused, because what on earth is happening? I still don't remember my name, and I have no idea where I am. I turn away from the window, observing the room further.

I nearly flinch as one of the floor planks screech beneath my feet as I move around. It seems to fit loose...
I don't reach down, however. Seeing the room, it's probably just the house aging. There are some cracks in the wall, and wallpaper is starting to shed.
Right opposite the window, a rusty wardrobe has been placed. Looking around, I don't see a mirror. A disappointment, because at this point I don't even know what gender I am. The voice in my head seems pretty masculine, though, so I'll assume I'm a male.

It feels pretty stupid, not even knowing what gender you are, or what your name is... I don't know my age either, but I presume something between fifteen and twenty-eight years old. I reach up, feeling my hair between my fingers. The texture is soft, like it has been washed just yesterday night. I feel my hair further. My hairlength ends just above my eyebrows and doesn't go past my ears on the sides.

My hand drops down to my side as I step to the wardrobe, opening it. As expected, it's empty. A sigh of relief leaves my lips when there's a shattered mirror on the inside of the wardrobe's door.  Almost desperate, I look at myself in the reflexion. I see a teenager; short, messed up brown hair, blue eyes and freckles seem to be the centre of attention. I have a pretty sharp jawline and thick, dark eyebrows.

Holy SHIT, I'm handsome.

I run a hand through my hair, keeping my gaze upon myself. My jaw nearly drops when I see red as I run my hand through my hair. A pleasant surprise, it looks really fucking cool. My hand leaves my hair, and the red hides itself again. The red is visible slightly on the top of my head, also looking really cool. I chuckle. This player has been customizing his character, huh?

I close the wardrobe's doors, looking down at what I'm wearing. Nothing special; some loose fitted jeans, a belt and a white long-sleeve layered with a red T-shirt. Shit, I've got a sense of style, too!
It feels odd, meeting myself again, even though I've been walking this earth for (approximately) two decades.

I turn back to the bed. Whoever has brought me here, maybe they've left a note? At first glance, no. I turn the bedding around, hoping for some sort of note, or anything to fall out. Nothing does. I sigh, swallowing the sudden irritation I feel welling up.

I decide to explore the festive-looking city. I exit the bedroom, closing the door behind me. I stand on top of a staircase. It's outdated, and looks like it'll collapse from a singular touch; like a shattered wine glass, of which its pieces have been glued together again, but ends up collapsing under bare minimal pressure. The stairs crunch under my feet as I move. Hastily, I make my way down the stairs.
I now have two options; go through the door that leads to what looks like an abandoned pub, or go through the door on my right and go outside.
