Uturu; Refuge.
In Na'vi tradition, any refugee or distant traveler who seeks shelter must be granted safety.
Refuge, Aonung thought, might be looking into her eyes and knowing she would look only at he.
I'm sorry if you find any grammatical mistakes or lack of cohesion between sentences, but thank you for reading this anyway.

Avatar: The Way of Water — AU Avatar: Fire and Ash
WHEN SHE WAS STILL A CHILD, Zeyna believed that nothing in the world could ever break the barriers that protected her family. She thought no force could take from them what was most precious: their home, one another, the safety of belonging. In time, however, she learned that childhood convictions are fragile, unreal dreams sustained by innocence.
That certainty shatters when the old war, once confined to stories and songs sung around the fire, ceases to belong solely to the past. The threat that marked her parents' youth resurfaces, forcing the Sully family to abandon their home in search of refuge.
But not before carving into Zeyna's heart, like a blade, the memories of a war no child should ever be forced to fight.
FROM AN EARLY AGE, Aonung learned that being the firstborn meant carrying more than a name. The son of the Olo'eyktan, he grew up surrounded by admiring eyes and expectations that always placed him ahead of others. His future had been promised long before he was old enough to choose it for himself.
As the years passed, that certainty hardened into arrogance. Provocations, veiled superiority, and childish behavior masked as pride became his armor. It was easier to meet the expectations of those who admired him than those of his own family.
Everything begins to unravel with the arrival of the outsiders.
For the first time, Aonung realizes that his arrogance does not impress, his title does not protect him, and his posture does not make him invincible.

Refuge, Aonung thought, might be looking into her eyes and knowing she would look only at me.

It means

Shut up.

There's little talk about Aonung, TikTok editors, you pay me for inducing me to write this here.
I'm going to modify some scenes from the film to a better fit with Zeyna.
I like to think of it as a slow burn, although if you're used to reading 40 chapters like I am, and they still hating each other, you might be disappointed lol
Apparently I enjoy suffering for couples, but write them hate each other for so long is harder, who would have thought?
But it continues, for all intents and purposes, to be a slow burn because my favorite part is developing feelings.
The characters' age range will change slightly, by one year to be precise, as follows: Aonung: 18, Neteyam: 19 Kiri: 17, Lo'ak: 15, Tsireya: 15 Tuk is still baby Tuk.
Trigger warning: post-traumatic stress, explicit violence, war, and mature themes.
