Everything around me began to blur and I could hear someone calling me, but the voice seemed far away. It almost felt like I was submerged underwater with the way the world felt around me. Ash was falling from the sky like snow leaving a thin pale gray layer of debris behind in its wake. Smoke filled the air with a certain heaviness as explosions sounded in the distance. Blood was pooling around me from several wounds that I knew that I had, but lost feeling from. I knew that I didn't have much longer with the way the numbness was spreading, I was dying and there was nothing I could do about it. A single tear makes its way down my dirty face as I picture my family finding my dead body. My fathers would be heartbroken, my brothers would stop laughing, but there was one person that I couldn't bear the thought of leaving behind. The image of him alone rips a heartbroken sob out of my breathless lungs. The love of my life, oh how his world will end, and I don't think there would be anyone who could pick up the broken pieces of his heart should I die here.
I wanted to live so much more fiercely with the single thought of leaving him behind, but with each shaking breath I take the more I question how much longer I have. This was it, this was my end. All I could feel was the ice in my veins as blackness started to dance into my vision.
Before my world goes completely black his face appears above me and all I want is to wipe the tears away from his handsome face. My fierce warrior fell to his knees next to me with blood and tears streaked across his cheeks, and my heart breaks as I take one last shallow breath....
