The weekend came, and Aevia felt a strange flutter in her chest.
Not nervousness about a runway show or meeting a publisher but excitement mixed with a hint of apprehension.

Kryzxley had asked her out, formally this time.

No gala. No work obligations. Just a proper date.

---

THE TEXT MESSAGE

It started innocently enough the night before.

Kryzxley: “Are you free tomorrow evening? I thought maybe… dinner. Just us. No distractions.”

Her heart skipped.

Aevia: “Yes… I’d like that.”

Kryzxley: “Great. 7 PM. I’ll pick you up.”

Simple. Straightforward. Thoughtful.
Exactly what she needed to start trusting him again.

---

PREPARING FOR THE DATE

Aevia spent the afternoon choosing her outfit carefully.
Something elegant, simple, and confident much like she felt inside.
A soft cream dress, heels that clicked gently with each step, and her hair loose, flowing naturally.

She looked at herself in the mirror, whispered to herself:
“Five years… and this is the first time in a long time I feel… excited. Hopeful. Maybe… happy.”

KRYZXLEY ARRIVES

The black car pulled up right on time.

Kryzxley stepped out, holding the door open with his usual quiet confidence.

He looked impeccable sharp shirt, tailored pants, and that calm, composed aura that made her heart skip.

“You look… beautiful,” he said softly, eyes sincere.

Aevia felt her cheeks warm.
“Thank you… you look… very different,” she teased gently.
“Much calmer. Much… better.”

He smiled faintly.
“Thanks. Five years will do that to a man.”

THE RESTAURANT

They arrived at a small, intimate restaurant dim lights, soft music, and the smell of freshly baked bread.

The hostess led them to a quiet table in the corner.

No crowds. No distractions. Just a space for them.

As they sat down, Kryzxley reached across the table, just brushing her hand gently a touch meant to reassure, not to rush.

Aevia swallowed hard but didn’t pull away.

She was ready to take small steps… and this was the first.

---

THE FIRST MEAL TOGETHER

The waiter left them alone after taking their order.

The quiet was comfortable.
Not awkward.
Not tense.

“You know,” Kryzxley began, eyes meeting hers,

“I was nervous asking you out. I didn’t know if you’d say yes. Or if you even wanted to see me again.”

Aevia smiled softly.
“I was nervous too. But… I wanted to. Part of me… has always wondered what it would be like to see you again. To really see you. After everything.”

He nodded slowly.
“After five years, I finally feel… ready. To be the man I should’ve been.”

She leaned back slightly, studying him.

“You really have changed… I can see it in the way you talk, the way you carry yourself. But… I need to see it in action too. Slowly. Step by step.”

He nodded, his expression serious.
“I understand. And I’m willing to wait… however long it takes.”

Her heart fluttered.
It was the first time she believed really believed that maybe love could be rebuilt.

---

SHARING MEMORIES

They talked about trivial things at first.

Favorite books and movies

Work projects and design inspirations

Childhood memories

And then, slowly, the conversation shifted toward them.

The past. Their fights. The pain.

“I remember the first time we argued that much… I thought I was losing you,” Kryzxley said quietly.

“You were,” she replied softly.
“But I also remember the times we laughed, the small moments that felt like home. That’s what made leaving so hard.”

He reached for her hand again, and this time, she let him hold it firmly.
“Those memories… they’ve stayed with me too,” he said, eyes soft.
“And they remind me why I can’t lose you again.”

---

A WALK AFTER DINNER

After dinner, they walked along a quiet street lit by streetlamps.
The city buzzed around them, but they were in their own bubble.

“You know,” Kryzxley said,
“I’ve spent the last five years trying to become someone worthy of your love. And now… I just want to be with you. Slowly, carefully. No pressure. No expectations. Just… us.”

Aevia squeezed his hand gently.
“I think… I’m ready to try,” she admitted.

“Slowly. But I want to see what we could be now… without the chaos of the past.”

He smiled softly, relieved.
“Slowly,” he repeated.
“Step by step. No rush. I promise.”

---

THE FIRST KISS?

They reached a small park near the riverbank.

The city lights reflected on the water.

Soft breeze, quiet, serene.

Kryzxley looked into her eyes, taking a slow breath.
“Aevs… may I?”

She nodded slightly, heart pounding.

His hand cupped her cheek gently.
And this time… it wasn’t hurried. It wasn’t impulsive. It was a careful, tender, long-awaited kiss a promise in itself.

Pulling away slightly, he whispered,
“I’ve waited five years for this moment… and I’ll wait a lifetime if I have to.”

Aevia smiled through tears.
“Maybe… now… it’s the right time.”

And in that quiet park, under the city lights, they began the slow dance of love again careful, deliberate, filled with hope.
