I didn't know if I should be scared, impressed, or just... furious that she'd even brought it up.
And yet... here we were. Freya Skye, sitting in my bed like she owned the place, looking nervously at the floor, fiddling with the sleeve of her hoodie.
"So," I started, trying to sound casual, though my stomach felt like it was doing push-ups. "When do you want to... you know."
She froze. Head snapped up, eyes wide. "What?"
"You said you wanted to have sex... so when? I mean... I'm asking for logistics purposes, obviously. Totally practical."
Her cheeks flushed pink. "Mal. We... we're not actually... doing it right now. I just... I just said that."
I shrugged, trying to look unaffected but failing miserably. "I know. I get it. But still. When do you want to... plan it?"
Her mouth opened, closed, opened again. "Plan... it?"
"Yeah. You said you wanted to. I'm just... trying to make sure it's... efficient. And safe. And you're comfortable."
Her eyes softened a little. "Mal... you're weird. And very intense."
"Thank you. I try." I smirked. "So, any preferences? Timing? Mood lighting? Snacks? Emergency Grey's episodes on standby?"
She laughed, the sound light and relieved. "This is ridiculous. But... okay. I guess we should... pick a time. When we're... you know... ready."
"Yeah. Ready. Safe. Calm. No weird interruptions. Maybe Grey's ready as a backup plan," I added seriously, as if that made total sense.
She nudged me lightly with her elbow. "You're taking this way too seriously."
"Not possible. This is... important."
We sat there for a long moment, grinning like idiots at each other, the tension easing just a little.
And even though we weren't actually doing anything yet... the fact that we were planning it together felt like the first real step toward... something.
Something bigger than just a pretend date or a kiss in the dark.
And I knew, without her saying it, that this was trust. And I wasn't about to screw it up.
