When I woke up, I was extremely uncomfortable.

My head was buried into my pillow and my body felt like a weight had been placed on it, sinking me deeper into my mattress. The crink in my neck and numbness of my legs told me that this weight had been on me for a while.

With squinted eyes, I lifted my head slightly, and a light breath was fanning the back of my neck. I frowned and turned my head to see the culprit.

Remy's innocent-looking face greeted me back.

He was fast asleep, his face very close to mine. My eyes roamed over his long lashes that curled over each other, and the bridge of his perfectly straight nose. His plump, pink lips were closed as he breathed heavily through his nose.

I rolled my eyes and turned my head back to face my original way. I realised that his sturdy arm was wrapped tightly around me and he had thrown a leg over my entire body, trapping me like a personal, life-sized teddy bear. I kissed my teeth wondering how we had gotten like this through the night.

My hand slid under my pillow until it came into contact with the smooth surface of my phone. Sliding it from under my head, I pressed the home button to see that it was ten in the morning. As I swiped my thumb over the screen unlocking my phone, my eyes cast upwards as I registered something hard and long, resting on the back of my thighs.

"Oh my God..." I whispered to myself.

My eyes widened as I began to violently shake myself from under Remy to wake up him.

"Mate.." I began, not even caring about my morning breath. Good, let him smell it. "Get off me."

He stirred a little but he was still asleep. I kissed my teeth and arched my back so that I slid up, rolling him and his morning glory off of me.

"Fam." He finally woke with a deep grumble and kiss of his teeth. Grabbing a handful of my duvet, he snatched it to himself. "Your breath's chatting bare shit. The fuckin' cheek of you. What do you want?"

I watched as his big, muscular frame turned himself around so that he was facing away from me, taking the covers along with him.

"The cheek of me?" I pointed to myself, even though he couldn't see me. "How about you don't lie yourself all on me like say this isn't a double bed?"

"Whatever man," he barely grunted as he shimmied, and got himself comfortable again.

I kissed my teeth for the umpteenth time, scratching my head through my headscarf. I rubbed my eyes and checked the time again. It was Monday and this fool was still here. But I also didn't mind because he could help me babysit whilst I went to university.

I stumbled out of bed and checked on Zay in his cot to see that he was still fast asleep, lying on his tummy and facing the other way. I watched his body to check his breathing before bending down and stroking his hair. Standing upright, I looked back over to Remy in my bed. He was buried in my covers, the only thing visible was the back of his head. Momentarily, I imagined that he was Xavier.

Going to my bathroom, I started my day and brushed my teeth, switching the shower on so it could heat up. I grabbed my towel from my door and closed it as I began to undress. I had a lecture and workshop today at eleven thirty, and I could already tell that I was going to be late. I jumped in the shower, closing my new purple shower curtains as I began soaking my sponge.

I was scrubbing my body when I heard the door open. I immediately froze to listen out. The sound of someone sniffing and my toilet seat rising caught my attention. I pulled the curtain back slightly, popping my head out.
