Slade's pov: I don't know why mom wanted me to go get him. He knew about the Hazeshift *rolls eyes*.
Third person:
When he arrives to get Reu, his younger brother, he saw some kid snatching Reu's things. So, he chased after him. When he caught up to him, the Hazeshift was starting to happen. The other kid (Calico) grabbed Slade's arm and dragged him to his small little home. When they got there and Slade tried talking to Calico he realized he was deaf. Slade ended up staying the night with Calico. When he got up he left, but before he could sneak past the gate he saw an officer. (idk what he calls them in the actual story). The officer grabbed Slade and asked if he was the boy who was "Kidnapped". The officer dragged him back to his house.
3 days later. Every day he had went back to Calico, but with a book over sign language. From then on they were best friends.
