It was just another day in Hogsmeade—people laughing and walking around the streets, children peeping into store windows, and parents buying their kids toys and candies. Through the chaos, two red-headed twins avoided children running by and weaved through the crowded parts of town, finally reaching their destination: 'Honeydukes', a store where cavities are made.
Inside was the smell of sweetness and sourness at the same time— kids littered the store licking lollipops, eating chocolate frogs and chewing Drooble's best chewing gum. The twins looked around the displays and shelves for anything sweet to eat, but there was a girl in the store who seemed to catch one of the twins' eyes. The girl in question had pitch black hair that was pin straight and was long enough to tuck into her pants, it contrasted with her ghostly pale skin that had a kind of shimmer to it. She was looking at a package of jelly slugs— which she seemed slightly interested in, until she sneered at the enchanted wriggling slugs and put them back. Something about her just had this boy somewhat, intrigued, especially by the way she dressed like she demanded respect and attention; almost perfection.
"George, who is that?" He asked in a mumbled voice, eyes glued to her as she took graceful steps around the shelves.
"Her? I don't know" His twin answered with a shrug not really paying too much attention to her. But still, something about her caught his eye, and he knew her from somewhere— he was absolutely positive about it.
"Should I talk to her?" The ginger boy questioned, shoving his hands into his pockets with his chin angled up whilst he stared; eyebrows furrowed in concentration.
"Whatever Fred, just go for it, I don't care" The boy named George groaned out with frustration at his twin's new obsession and infatuation. But when George had looked back to tell Fred to forget about her, he had already started walking over to the mysterious woman. "Wait- what are you-" George tried to call out, but of course it was no use against Fred (He had a knack for pulling through with whatever he had his mind set on). "Damnit..." He muttered to himself, crossing his arms and sighing with a knowing look.
The pale girl was looking at a package of 'Licorice Snaps' now, seemingly contemplating whether to buy it or not. "You like those?" A voice cooed from behind her, making her whip around surprised.
"Oh, um- yeah" She replied with a rather posh-sounding French accent, which came as a bit of a surprise to the ginger boy.
"You're not from around here are you?" He leaned back— mischievous smile shining down at her. She was taller than he thought though, just a few inches shorter than him.
"Oh no- I'm from France, but my family moved here when I was 9" The vampirish girl explained while she looked back at the Licorice Snaps, dark hair falling around her face creating a shadow.
"What was your name again?"
"Samira D'Amour"
He smirked "Fred Weasley", his hand extending out, waiting for her to shake his— but she never did. Just left, Licorice Snaps in hand.
His hand stayed in the air for a second, his jaw slightly dropped while his eyes followed her. Samira pays and quickly escapes from the store, without even another glance at him. George let out a low whistle and waltzed over with his hand buried deep in his pockets with that peculiar expression painted on his face. "Well, it didn't go as planned, mate?" He sniggered.
"Shut up man" Fred mumbled, crossing his arms and furrowing his brows with questions flooding his head with no answers explaining them.
The walk back from Hogsmeade had been painful for Fred, listening to George talk about a prank they could do when they get back and the supplies they'll need for it— but, Fred couldn't focus on what he was saying at all, not when he was deep in thought like he was now.
"Dude, you're not even listening to me" George groaned, pushing his brother with an eye roll. Fred just drifted to the side of the path when his twin had done so, eyes still staring at the ground as he walked with hands stuffed into his pockets.
"Why did she do it? Does she not like me? Did she know me from somewhere?" Cluttered words had stumbled out of his mouth. George let out a sigh over his brother's problems.
"I don't know, maybe she's in our class?"
Fred paused and stopped walking, "Is she?"
"Maybe? Perhaps we just don't take all the same classes as her?"
Fred thought about it for a second, a small grin tugging at his lips. "Yeah, maybe."
