Ravenna gagged at the smell of the raw meat in the buckets in her hands. She plopped them down in Steve's trunk, turning at the sound of someone on Dustin's walkie talkie.

"Dustin!" The voice called.

"Now you want to answer?" Dustin answered back.

"I'm sorry! My stupid sister turned it off." Lucas, the kid on the walkie talkie, apologised.

"Well, while you were having sister problems, dart grew. Then he escaped and now I'm pretty sure he's a tiny demogorgan." Dustin explained.

Ravenna tuned Dustin and his friend out, leaning on the car for support. Her thoughts were racing. Her memory flashed back to the time she had came face to face with it, biting its neck and being poisoned. Her thoughts were interrupted by Steve's voice right next to her.

"You okay?" Steve questioned.

"Yeah, just a little nervous. Listen, we can talk about everything later I promise when we get a minute. I will tell you anything you want to know." Ravenna explained.

"I know you will, but for now, let's just finish this job." Steve pulled her in for a quick side hug. "Okay, let's go Henderson."

"Just be there!" Dustin yelled into his walkie talkie. "Over and out."

Ravenna took the front seat next to Steve while Dustin sat in the back.

The three walked down an old train track, slinging out raw meat every few steps.

Dustin began explaining to them about how he found fart and why he kept it.

"Let me get the straight, you kept something you knew was probably dangerous in order to impress a girl who you just met?" Steve repeated most of what Dustin had told them.

"That is grossly over simplifying things." Dustin gestured, dropping raw meat to his side.

"Why would a girl like some nasty slug anyway?" Ravenna squirmed, feeling Steve reach his hand into Ravenna's bucket of meat, seeing as she did not want to touch it.

"An inter-dimensional slug, because it's awesome?" Dustin answered.

"Even if she thought it was cool-"

"Which she didn't." Ravenna finished.

"I just feel like you're trying too hard man." Steve patted Dustin shoulder.

"Not everyone can have your perfect hair." Dustin rolled his eyes with a scoff.

"It's not about the hair, man." Steve replied. "The key with girls is just acting like you don't care."
