On the Normandy SR-1 in the year 2183 things where frantic as this colony was under attack by Geth and unbeknownst to commander Shepard this was to be his Specter qualification mission and unbeknownst to the whole crew Jenkins to will die to a Geth drone and so will Spectre Nihlus Kryik to the rogue Turian Spectre Saren Arterius.
The Normandy SR-1 cut through the void like a silent blade, its stealth systems humming faintly as the ship coasted above the Eden Prime colony. Inside, the air was heavy with tension—every console lit with warning icons, every officer speaking in sharp, clipped tones.
Commander Shepard stood at the galaxy map, his eyes locked on the red holographic indicator of Eden Prime. The planet shimmered below, its surface aflame with scattered detonations.
"Status report," Shepard said firmly, glancing at Kaiden Alenko beside him.
Kaiden, ever composed but visibly concerned, adjusted his omni-tool. "We’re picking up multiple distress signals from the surface, Commander. Geth signatures confirmed—hundreds of them. The colony’s defensive grid is down."
From the pilot’s seat, Joker chimed in, his voice crackling over the comm. "Commander, we’re coming up on the LZ. Navigation’s a mess—Geth interference is throwing off my sensors like crazy. But I’ll get you close."
Shepard nodded. "Good. Tell Gunnery Chief Jenkins to gear up."
In the cargo bay, Corporal Richard Jenkins was practically vibrating with energy, adjusting his armor plates with a grin. “Finally! I’ve been waiting for some real action, Commander. Eden Prime’s just colonists, right? Should be a cakewalk.”
Kaiden shot him a look as the three assembled by the drop ramp. “Don’t get cocky, Jenkins. Geth aren’t just another pirate raid. Keep your head down and follow protocol.”
The metal ramp clanked open as the shuttle touched ground. The landscape was a nightmare—fields scorched, colony buildings smoking, debris scattered across the once-thriving farmlands. Red lightning arced in the distant sky.
"Move out!" Shepard barked. The team advanced through the devastation, weapons raised.
Jenkins jogged a few steps ahead, scanning the horizon. “Doesn’t look too bad, Commander—wait, I think I see something!”
A whirring noise pierced the air. From behind a shattered cargo container, a Geth drone rose—its optic glowing with cold, synthetic malice. Before Shepard could call out, it fired.
A burst of plasma ripped through Jenkins’ chest, dropping him instantly. The corporal fell backward, lifeless, the smell of scorched armor and ozone filling the air.
“Jenkins!” Kaiden shouted, dropping to one knee beside the body.
Shepard clenched his jaw. “He’s gone. We move.”
They pressed forward, each step heavier now. The Geth presence thickened—drones, troopers, and strange machinery dotting the terrain like an occupying army.
Far ahead, beyond the smoke and gunfire, Spectre Nihlus Kryik was already on recon. He moved like a shadow—efficient, precise, unreadable. His commlink crackled softly as he whispered, “Saren, I’ve found the beacon. The humans have no idea what they’re standing on…”
From behind him, a voice he once trusted answered coldly, “Then it’s time they learned.”
The last thing Nihlus saw was Saren’s pistol flash—clean, unhesitant. The round struck him between his mandibles. The turian Spectre fell without a sound, the alien soil darkening beneath him.
Back near the landing zone, Shepard’s team finally broke through a cluster of destroyed drones. Kaiden tapped his comm. “Commander, Nihlus isn’t responding. I’ve lost his beacon.”
