James potter often found himself infatuated by things. Quidditch, his first love, became his entire personality from the ages 7-11. That was when he started Hogwarts and became obsessed with being the best prankster the school had seen with his group of ragtag marauders. That lasted for the first year of his schooling, before he grew a delusional 'love' of Lily Evans, the first girl who stood up to him. He quickly realised that it was puppy love when he found his latest obsession. Percy Jackson.
Throughout Hogwarts, Percy Jackson was always known as the Hufflepuff who should've been a Gryffindor, at least at first glance. First impressions of the raven haired boy was that he was always getting into trouble, whether it was purposely or not. He seemed to average a Troll on every test that wasn't practical, and was widely known for his tall stature and good looks that had girls and guys falling at his feet.
However, once you knew him, it was obvious that he's a Hufflepuff through and through. Loyal to a fault was the most obvious trait. And kind to even those who didn't deserve it, even if he threw some sarcastic comments in the mix.
That wasn't what drew James in though. It was the change. Yes, Percy Jackson was surely still all these things, but since missing almost a year of schooling, he had come back edgier. Not so quick to smile or laugh. Always seemingly lost in his thoughts or a far away memory. His grades, that had been slowly improving had rapidly slipped. James was curious. He wanted to know what had caused the sudden shift in the Jackson boy, and he wasn't one to back down from a challenge.
